"IF YOU sign those documents, then you’ll officially become An Baekya’s foster parents."

Wonyoung was still in his private room in the hospital.
While he sat on the bed (since he was a patient), the two men sat on the chairs next to it.
Yun Dujun was the one sitting close to Wonyoung, of course.
While the older gentleman was seated next to the Alpha.
And it’s that ahjussi who dropped the ’bomb’ earlier.
To say that Wonyoung was shocked when Chief Kim Hocheol, the person who introduced himself as the head of NSRC Busan Branch, showed him the documents that would allow him and Yun Dujun to become An Baekya’s foster parents would be an understatement.

"How?" Wonyoung asked, confused. "What about the requirements to become foster parents?"
"Don’t sweat the details, Bae Wonyoung-nim," Chief Kim Hocheol said, smiling brightly. "Yun Dujun-nim has already taken care of everything."

Wonyoung glared at Yun Dujun.
It was annoying how calm the Alpha looked while sipping his iced coffee.

"Yun Dujun-nim has already submitted evidence of the abuse An Baekya has suffered from his relatives. Kim Hocheol maintained his business smile as if he were already used to it. "As I said earlier, everything has been taken care of, Bae Wonyoung-nim."

"If you have questions, just ask me later," Yun Dujun said indifferently. "Just sign the documents for now. Chief Kim needs to leave soon."

Wonyoung nodded, frowning. "Okay, Sunbae-nim."

"AN BAEKYA told me that you saved him. How? What happened? And why are you here in the first place?" Wonyoung ambushed Yun Dujun with questions as soon as Chief Kim Hocheol left. The NSRC Busan branch left with the signed documents that he needed to proceed with An Baekya’s transfer to his new foster parents. "Sunbae-nim, did you follow me here because you knew I was here to meet An Baekya?"
Yun Dujun blinked slowly while giving Wonyoung a dire stare. "Hoobae-nim, since when did you get this energetic?"

The ’Bae Wonyoung’ from the ’novel’ that Wonyoung remembered was always calm and collected.
Dujun Sunbae-nim must be disappointed—
"That side of you is cute, too."

"Why are you doing this, Sunbae-nim? I clearly said I wanted a divorce the last time we talked. Plus, didn’t you also want a divorce?"
"Well, I changed my mind."
"Why?"
"I realized that if we got a divorce, you would have just found another way to adopt An Baekya."
"That’s true," Wonyoung admitted while nodding. "Now that I know that the chief accepts bribes..."
Yun Dujun scoffed. "Do you have more money than I, Hoobae-nim?"
Tsk.
"This is why Omegas can’t have nice things— Alphas ruin everything," Wonyoung said bitterly. And then he thumped his hand against his chest after it tightened painfully. "Why can’t you just mind your own business, Sunbae-nim? Just let me be An Baekya’s foster parent and leave me alone."
"And what? Let you raise another child while our own son is being neglected?"
"Sunbae-nim, Yun Yuhyun doesn’t want me—"
"We’ve already talked about this, Hoobae-nim. You and Yun Yuhyun just need time to get to know each other," Yun Dujun said firmly. "And you can do that while raising An Baekya, too."
"What do you mean by that, Sunbae-nim?"
"Come and live with us— you and An Baekya."
"Are you crazy, Sunbae-nim? Your mother hates me. If I live with you, she might really end up killing me this time. Plus, what if your mother starts targeting An Baekya, too?"
"I won’t let that happen."
"I’m sorry, but I can’t trust Sunbae-nim’s words."
"You’re still free to divorce me if you really want to," Yun Dujun said coldly. "But if you do, just know that I’ll automatically gain full custody of An Baekya. The court will favor me because, aside from the fact that I’m an Alpha, I’m also more capable of raising the kid. After all, I have more means to provide for An Baekya."

I hate that Sunbae-nim is right.
Hence, Wonyoung could only glare at Yun Dujun.
Of course, his sunbae-nim remained calm and collected.

Wonyoung raised an eyebrow.
