Chapter 1749: Let me take a look
Once the matter with the Democratic Union was dealt with, they were locked up and guarded by a group.
Since all of us had been suspicious of them to begin with, all of us had brought methods of restraining them. It wasn’t a problem for us to keep them locked up so that they weren’t able to do anything.
The fact was that they weren’t the real problem.
The real problem was the array in the distance and the pressure that came from it.
Or rather, the pressure that came from that member of the Four Omens.
Even though we had gotten quite far away from where that member of the Four Omens should be, we could still feel the powerful pressure that was coming from them.
It was just that if baiting them didn’t work, then the only thing that could be done was charging right into their stronghold.
This was a place that they had been building up for a while now, so there was no telling what would be waiting for them.
It was likely that it would be even worse than what they had faced back in the Mofu Mofu Kingdom.
To fight this member of the Four Omens, they had to be prepared for casualties.
Well, it wasn’t as if everyone wasn’t prepared for casualties in the first place since we were fighting against the forces of Destruction. It was just that they had been hoping to keep casualties as low as possible.
But it really didn’t seem likely in the situation that we faced...
Taking a deep breath, I said, "Let me take a look first."
The moment that I suggested this, there were many different objections that rang out.
I wasn’t surprised by this since I knew what kind of position I had in this racial alliance.
I also knew that this was even more the case since I was the only one that could fight that member of the Four Omens in their eyes. So if anything happened to me, they really didn’t know what they would do.
But that was also the reasoning that I used to argue this.
"If I don’t take a look, then who will? I’m the only one that can sneak in and scout out the place without a big problem."
None of them could say anything in response to this since they knew that this was the truth.
Seeing this, I continued by saying, "If we don’t do this, are we just planning on sending as many people in as possible to try and overwhelm them? We should all be aware of the number of casualties that will be created because of this plan."
Once again, it seemed like all of them were completely stunned since they couldn’t say anything.
There really wasn’t anything that they could say since everything that I was saying was the truth. Even if they wanted to say something, there wasn’t anything that they could say.
Seeing that no one was going to say anything, I started heading in the direction that the pressure was coming from.
The one that reacted first was Joan as she tried to follow me.
But I raised my hand to stop her before saying, "Sorry, you’re a bit too big for this."
Joan looked at me like she wasn’t happy about this, but she didn’t keep following me in the end.
Instead, it looked like she was looking at her body as if she was unhappy that she was this big.
Only there wasn’t anything that Joan could do about it.
Before anyone else could do anything, I said, "Trust me, I have another trick that I can use."
Then with a snap of my fingers, there was something that seemed to cover me until I disappeared without a trace.
When I was gone, everyone was looking at where I had been standing with confused looks.
However, it wasn’t that I was actually gone.
Instead, I was still standing there in front of them, but there was this layer of dark magic that was in front of me.
It wasn’t dark magic that I had cast on my own, but dark magic that had been cast with the help of Ifrit and Undine.
The two of them weren’t darkness spirits, but they were Spirit Kings that had command over other spirits. As such, they were able to gather a few dark spirits from the surrounding area to cast this spell.
Darkness spirits that were gathered by Spirit Kings were naturally high grade spirits.
Other than the two sages, it seemed that no one else was able to see through me.
With this, I started heading in the direction that the pressure from that member of the Four Omens came from.
As I did, all of the mutated orcs and the corruption energy monsters that I encountered ignored me.
It seemed that this spell that the darkness spirits cast really was effective.
When I came closer and closer, I could feel the concentration of corruption energy increasing.
Others might not be able to sense this as sharply as I could, but the divine energy inside of me made sure that I knew this. It even seemed like there was a desire to purify all of this corruption energy that was coming from inside of me.
Still, I was able to hold it in as I made my way closer to the center of this.
When I came closer, I found that there were more of the mutated orcs that were in this area. It seemed like there were even more of these mutated orcs compared to the corruption energy monsters.
It was as if the mutated orcs had all been gathered for a certain reason.
When I came even closer, I saw what the reason was and I couldn’t help knitting my brows.
"It seems like they really did keep the sacrifice part of the array..." I thought to myself when I saw what the Apostles of Destruction were doing.
