Chapter 1736: Orc colony (1)
"Just watch over them and make sure that they don’t do anything."
Even if I didn’t give them this warning, it wasn’t as if there was anyone that would trust the Democratic Union with their backs.
They all knew that the Democratic Union was suspicious and had been planning on doing this the entire time.
Though many of them looked at me as if they were wondering what I was planning to do.
They knew that I wouldn’t choose to head out all alone if I didn’t have a plan.
So that was why they were curious what this plan was.
"I’m only taking a small group, so there’s not much that we can do." I said to them, but they didn’t really seem to believe me.
Well, it didn’t matter if they believed me or not.
In the end, the only ones that came with me were a few royal guards, the saintess, and Alidus who had shrunken down with the shrinking potion so that he was human size.
When he shrunk down, he was able to bring along the Origin Giant’s relic which certainly would be useful.
With this small group, it really didn’t seem like we would be able to do anything.
But no one seemed to believe that I was just scouting about.
I even left Joan behind since she was just too big and drew too much attention.
Joan tried drinking the shrinking potion, but it didn’t work on her like it did for the giants. It seemed that this potion was something that would only work on the giants, so there was nothing that Joan could do about it.
With this small group, we headed across the border of the land of orcs.
After passing that border, the first thing that I did was hold up my hand with a flame in it.
Everyone looked at me with a strange look when they saw this since they had no idea what I was doing, but I didn’t say anything as I followed the direction that the flame was pointing in.
It wasn’t that the flame was pointing in a certain direction, it was more that the flame was swaying in a direction as if it was being pulled by something.
However, that alone was enough to tell me that this was the right direction.
After all, this was a flame that had my divine energy inside of it.
My divine energy made this a divine energy flame. A divine energy flame would be attracted by the corruption energy just like how Joan’s flames chased them down.
It was just that what it led us to wasn’t what I had been expecting to find.
"How many of them are there?"
I heard someone ask from behind me as we observed the large number of corruption energy creatures that were gathered in front of us.
There weren’t just the same kind of corruption energy creatures that we were used to, there were also those that were much stronger than the normal corruption energy creatures.
It was clear that they had been absorbing corruption energy for a long time now, which was a good show of just how much corruption energy was in this land of the orcs.
The strange thing was that they were gathered around something.
It really seemed like they were here for something.
"Is that a barrier?" Alidus suddenly asked.
I was surprised since I didn’t see anything like that at first, but then when I narrowed my eyes to look closely...
There really was a barrier that was surrounding the mountain that the corruption energy creatures had surrounded. It seemed like it was a barrier that was supposed to be protecting it, but it didn’t seem like it was a natural barrier.
It seemed like the kind of barrier that was set up by someone or something.
"Should we help them?" That was the most important question right now.
In the end, I said with a nod, "The enemy of our enemy is our friend. Even if they are orcs, they will have important information about the enemy, right?"
Though they seemed hesitant, everyone agreed in the end.
The most important thing was the fact that these corruption energy creatures weren’t actually a match for us.
Even if there were a lot of them, it wasn’t as if they would be able to resist the divine energy that came from the relics that we had.
So in the end, it would be nothing more than a one sided slaughter on our part.
The thing was that there was something strange about the barrier.
I felt this the moment that I approached the barrier.
It gave off the same feeling as the bone weapons that the demi humans used.
Are there local gods among the orcs as well?
If that was the case, it would make sense that they would be able to hold out against the forces of Destruction for so long.
At the same time, it meant that there was something that we could use to help us fight against the forces of Destruction.
Though none of that meant anything as long as these corruption energy monsters were still here.
The way that the others looked at me was as if they were worried that something was off about me.
I looked at them and shook my head before saying, "I’m fine."
Then with a wave of my hand, there was a mist that appeared around us.
It didn’t take long for that mist to spread out across this area.
When the mist reached the corruption energy monsters, they started to scream in pain as smoke came from them.
From this signal, Alidus led the charge against the corruption energy monsters.
They couldn’t stand a single blow from his club.
At the same time, I could tell that Alidus was much stronger than before.
Not only was his style much more developed, he was also using the power of the club even more.
In the future, there was no doubt that he would be a powerful warrior.
