Chapter 1737: Orc colony (2)
But it wasn’t just Alidus that was breaking through the line of corruption energy monsters that were in front of us.
It was also the others that were making their way through the corruption energy monsters. Though when compared to the speed that Alidus had when he broke through, they could only be called slow.
After all, they just didn’t have the same weapon as him.
It was the saintess that played the second biggest role after Alidus.
As a saintess, she naturally possessed her own divine relic that she used to fight with.
She was the saintess that was chosen by the gods, so she could use the divine relic at a level that was much higher than anyone else with a relic.
But that wasn’t the only thing that the saintess could do.
Since she was the saintess that had been trained by the church for so many years, she also mastered holy magic at a high level. She was able to buff all of the royal guards with holy magic which allowed them to fight against the corruption energy monsters.
If it wasn’t for the saintess’ holy magic, then the royal guards wouldn’t have been able to do much other than hold the corruption energy monsters back until someone that could deal with them could deal with them.
With the saintess’ holy magic, they were able to directly cut down these corruption energy monsters.
So there was no need for them to wait as they cut those corruption energy monsters to pieces.
Once the corruption energy monsters were down, there was nothing standing in the way to the mountain.
After approaching, it wasn’t hard to find the entrance of the cave since the corruption energy monsters had been surrounding it.
But before heading in, we had to clear out the rest of the corruption energy monsters.
Though what I didn’t expect was that all of a sudden, there were these orcs that came out to face them as well.
These orcs suddenly came out from behind the barrier and charged at the corruption energy monsters.
I had wanted to stop them, but it was already too late as they were already where the corruption energy monsters were. So the only thing that I could do was spread the mist to help weaken the corruption energy monster for them.
I hadn’t been expecting anything from these orcs, but I soon found that I was wrong.
That was because the great axes that they used cut right through the corruption energy monsters. It was almost as if they were cutting through paper with how easily they cut through them.
Though I soon found that the orcs were just as surprised by the fact that they had cut through these corruption energy monsters this easily.
It was as if this was the first time that they were seeing this happen.
While they were caught off guard, I looked carefully at the weapons that they wielded.
When I looked more closely, I found that there was something strange about these weapons.
It was that these weapons had some kind of strange purple glow to them.
If I hadn’t looked at it carefully, this was a glow that I would have missed...In fact, I had actually missed this glow when I had been observing their weapons earlier.
But this strange purple glow seemed to be the only thing that could explain why they had been able to take care of these corruption energy monsters so easily.
What was this strange purple glow?
That was the thought that passed through my mind seeing this, but I pushed it down in the end since this wasn’t the time to be asking this.
Right now, it was more important to take down these corruption energy monsters.
But at the same time, one had to take care of the orcs that came out to fight.
Even without a single word, Alidus knew what I was thinking just based on the way that I moved the mist. As soon as I moved this mist, he quickly followed it to where I was guiding the mist and went to back up the orcs.
When the orcs saw Alidus, they didn’t hesitate to follow him.
If there was one thing that the orcs respected, it was someone who had power and Alidus didn’t lack that.
Especially with the way that he swung his club around, each swing seemed to be filled with power. It was as if their spirits were being raised with each swing of his club.
That was why they were willing to follow him.
With Alidus leading the orcs and the royal guards clearing out the corruption energy monsters from the side, it didn’t take long before we were able to dwindle their numbers until there were only a few of them left.
At that point, we left the rest of the corruption energy monsters to the orcs.
The way that they had fought against the corruption energy monsters showed that there were some deep feelings inside of them towards the corruption energy monsters.
In that case, there was nothing wrong with giving them these corruption energy monsters to vent these feelings.
They even gave Alidus a grateful nod when they saw this before heading towards the corruption energy monsters.
The way that they attacked them really showed the grudge that they held against them.
Once they were done with these corruption energy monsters, the orcs came back to Alidus to say, "Thank you for coming to our rescue, but who are you?"
At the end of these words, there was a wary tone that filled the voice of the orc that spoke. At the same time, the other orcs looked at Alidus with the same trace of wariness in their eyes.
It was clear that they didn’t let their guards down for even a second.
I came forward to say, "We’re here on behalf of the racial alliance. We came here to face the forces of Destruction and to save the orcs if possible."
"Who are you to answer?" The orc that spoke for them before asked me this when he heard what I said.
