Chapter 122 Philosophical Strategy

The uncle used some unknown boxing style, his hands and feet a blur, forcing Wen Wen to dodge and weave, almost prompting him to activate his vampire mode for a counterattack.

However, Wen Wen eventually managed to escape him. After leaving the library, the philosopher, just like the previous one, vanished.

Squatting by the entrance of the museum, Wen Wen contemplated his strategy.

"Each person who appears is different, and the second encounter follows the same pattern as the first. So, this thing might not have intelligence; it might be acting according to some rule…"

"Every time the philosopher goes berserk, it starts from when I answer a question incorrectly. So, what will happen if I answer correctly every time?"

"No matter, I'll try again!"

He had made up his mind to confront this containment object. He refused to believe that he, Detective Wen, couldn't handle a mere inanimate thing.

Entering the museum for the third time, Wen Wen stood in the center, waiting for a new philosopher to appear.

Sensing a subtle change in the mist, Wen Wen turned his head and was instantly shocked, his eyes widening as much as a normal person squinting.

This didn't look like a philosopher either!

The person standing behind Wen Wen had an honest East Asian face. On his head, he wore a black mask that covered half of his face. Around his neck was a collar studded with shiny rivets, and he was clad in black leather, appearing to be no benevolent soul.

"Do you like philosophy?"

This time, Wen Wen decided to answer differently. After a moment's thought, he said, "No, I don't."

If he was going to attempt to answer all questions correctly, he had to start from the very beginning.

"Incorrect answer!"

The masked philosopher's eyes widened in fury. He ripped open his black leather outfit, revealing a jarring, muscular physique wrapped in several black leather straps. In his hand, he held a whip, making him look quite terrifying.

"Sigh… I don't even want to comment anymore. Why are all your styles so strange?"

Before the masked philosopher could attack, Wen Wen fled. There was no point in fighting him.

For an entire night, Wen Wen kept entering the museum, only to be chased by the muscular brute and forced to dodge.

However, he wasn't taking blows in vain. Although the philosophers who appeared each time were different, after the twelfth one, duplicates began to appear. This suggested that there were only twelve distinct philosophers.

Secondly, there were the questions. The first question from all the philosophers was, 'Do you like philosophy?'

The correct answer to this question was 'yes.' Any other answer would result in a beating.

As for the subsequent questions, though seemingly abstruse and difficult to comprehend, most of them could be answered correctly if one avoided overly clever interpretations and simply chose the provided options. Answering correctly allowed progress to the next question.

Based on Wen Wen's observations, each philosopher used their own set of questions, and the scope of these questions never extended beyond their particular question bank. Thus, after multiple attempts, Wen Wen encountered many identical questions.

After a night of trying, Wen Wen successfully answered the first three questions from the black-masked philosopher, only to be defeated on the fourth.

As long as he answered enough times, Wen Wen was confident he could answer all his questions!

Once he answered all the questions correctly, Wen Wen might be able to obtain that item.

Although he didn't know the specific abilities of that item, it was undoubtedly related to those twelve philosophers. If Wen Wen could control those twelve strongmen in combat, it would greatly aid his battles.

Twelve berserk philosophers ganging up on one enemy – the scene would be truly magnificent.

The difficulty of obtaining that item was neither easy nor hard to define.

If not for Wen Wen, a superpowered individual with multiple abilities, others would have no chance to try repeatedly. To pass the test, one had to answer correctly on the first try.

If he made a mistake and the ensuing fight damaged the museum, he could forget about returning. The Hunter Association would surely be watching by then.

Speaking of which, it was no wonder there was only one security guard here.

Any petty thief daring to steal from here would be smashed into a pulp by those philosophers in minutes.

Upon returning home, Wen Wen immediately opened his computer to search for philosophy-related materials.

All the philosophers he encountered in the museum could be found on the computer; they were all renowned philosophers, each with their own unique characteristics. Of course, in reality, they were not as狂躁 (kuángzào - manic/frenzied).

Next, Wen Wen began searching for philosophical dilemmas online. He needed to cram knowledge in this area, determined to completely conquer those muscle-bound men, lest his repeated efforts of dodging be in vain.

Stepping out of the mental hospital, Gong Bao Ding tilted his head back and stared directly at the sun, unfazed by its glare.

His isolation review had concluded, and the entire process had gone without a hitch.

This relaxed Gong Bao Ding while also making him feel a bit tense.

Even the Hunter Association's review couldn't uncover any issues with the Disaster Containment Facility. This indicated that the entity behind the facility possessed immense power!

He truly wondered if bringing the dead back to life was a blessing or a curse.

However, now that he was out, he should pay a visit to the containment facility.

He wouldn't be at ease unless he saw this mysterious Disaster Containment Facility with his own eyes.

Gong Bao Ding returned home, locked his bedroom doors and windows, and prepared to enter the containment facility from there.

Not everyone preferred entering through the restroom…

He used chalk to draw a slightly complex magic circle on the floor. Then, he placed four items of different attributes at the four corners of the diagram, held the Containment Officer's pendant, and softly recited an incantation.

Afterward, he felt a mysterious force envelop him, guiding him to another space.

When he opened his eyes again, what he saw was the central hub of the containment facility's catastrophe.

He pinched the back of his hand to confirm the situation.

"It's not like entering as a soul last time; this time it's my physical body entering. This means this organization possesses spatial teleportation abilities at the very least…"

He then began to move around the containment facility, the first area he found being the section where monsters were confined.

"Puppeteer, an unknown powerful ghost, a carrion crow, a treant, a fox spirit, and three ghosts…"

"There are a total of eight monsters. It seems the person who recruited me back then wasn't lying; they are indeed capturing and confining monsters here."

He then paid particular attention to the carrion crow. Among the monsters Wen Wen had dealt with, one was a missing carrion crow. Could that carrion crow be here?

And the ghosts and treant…

"Several of these monsters look very familiar to me…"

In fact, if Qin Shuang wasn't currently evolving, Gong Bao Ding would have been able to confirm Wen Wen's identity as a Containment Officer upon seeing him.

After all, he had investigated Wen Wen before and knew that when Wen Wen apprehended monsters, they would disappear.

"Is it really him…"

Gong Bao Ding pondered for a moment, then walked to Hu Youling's cell and asked sternly.

"Who was the demon hunter who captured you?"

As long as she provided characteristics matching Wen Wen, he could pinpoint Wen Wen's identity.

However, Hu Youling did not answer him. Instead, her eyes lit up, and she leaned towards the cell door, striking a seductive pose.

She couldn't hear Gong Bao Ding's words!
