Chapter 161: Wedding Problem

Chapter 161: Chapter 161: Wedding Problem

Almost three weeks have passed. Soon, Matthias will have to accept Amber as his wife openly in front of everyone. Matthias still doesn’t want to forgive his future wife after learning from Victoria that she had been threatened by someone. If he read the threatening message, he would know the anonymous person did it on Amber’s orders. Of course, Matthias wants to yell at Amber without hesitation until she learns not to pursue him.

Soon he would have to go through what would be the worst day of his life. That day would be the day he would officially divorce Victoria. The divorce papers had been submitted to the court. Now it was only a matter of time before he would have to completely relinquish his status as Victoria’s husband.

Matthias’s expression now looked gloomy as he was having dinner with Amber. Meanwhile, Amber continued to display a cheerful expression. He didn’t care what Amber did all day; all he cared about was his beloved Victoria. Having not lived with her for so long, he grew increasingly concerned about Victoria’s well-being. He wondered whether she could take care of herself properly, even though she always contacted Ansel twice a day.

"Matthias, why are you so gloomy? Is something wrong with you?" Amber asked worriedly.

Matthias immediately looked away in annoyance. "I’m just tired. You don’t have to worry so much about me."

"That’s strange. You don’t usually look so gloomy even though you’re tired." Amber took a graceful sip of her wine. "I can’t wait to marry you. Once we’re married, I won’t let you work late at night."

"Amber, I don’t mind working late into the night. Especially if it really needs to be done today. You don’t have to worry about me too much."

"Okay. I’ll do it according to your wishes."

"I’m sorry if I seem so selfish to you. But if you ever want to go on vacation with me, just let me know."

Her right hand gripped her future husband’s hand tightly. "Have you thought about where we want to honeymoon? Actually, for now I want to go on a honeymoon with you after we are officially married."

"Now I want to ask you. Where do you actually want to go on your honeymoon? Last time, you didn’t like going to snowy places, even though you’ve lived in America for years."

"That’s because I’m bored of vacationing in cold countries. I want somewhere different."

"How about we go to the Maldives? The scenery there is beautiful."

Amber rolled her eyes. "Matthias, do you want me to burn? Is it that hard for you to choose a honeymoon location that suits my wishes? I’ve been giving you plenty of clues all this time!"

Matthias felt like banging the table seeing Amber’s childish behavior again. "I’ve tried my best to make you happy!"

"I won’t be happy if you fail to choose a suitable honeymoon destination for me."

Matthias nodded. "Okay, I’ll definitely pick a place you’ll really like. It’s not too hot and not too cold."

Matthias was actually fed up with dealing with Amber, who was very fussy in his eyes. Initially, Matthias wanted to forgive Amber just because of the wedding dress issue, but he couldn’t forgive her. First, the wedding dress issue was a headache. Second, Amber was also very fussy about the venue, which led to an argument. Then there was the issue of the pre-wedding photo backdrop. He firmly believed that only he could deal with a woman who was never satisfied with her desires.

"We should finish our food. I want to go home soon."

After dinner at a restaurant in a shopping mall, Amber took Matthias around the mall because she had something to buy. Matthias felt even more comfortable because Amber held his hand so tightly, making it even more difficult for him to move. Walking with Victoria was incredibly comfortable, and no matter how far he traveled, he never felt tired.

Unexpectedly, Matthias ran into Victoria, who was walking with Ansel. The four of them exchanged awkward glances, except for Amber, who was still confident in showing off her relationship with Matthias.

"Wow, I never thought we’d meet in a place like this, Victoria!" Amber said enthusiastically, looking at Ansel. "Are you dating Ansel now?"

Victoria smiled sarcastically as she looked at her ex-fiancé. "I’m not dating Ansel. But I enjoy spending my free time with him now."

"Really? If you were dating, you’d be perfect together."

Ansel glared at Amber. "Whether we’re dating or not is any of your business."

"No. I just support your relationship."

Matthias spontaneously patted Amber’s hand before the atmosphere could get any more awkward. He looked at Victoria’s gloomy expression, and he knew it was because Amber was holding her hand tightly.

"Amber, we should go home now."

"Don’t you want to talk to Victoria?"

"I’m really tired today. Besides, you’ve been talking a lot all this time!"

"Matthias, I can only say congratulations on your wedding."

Matthias forced a smile. "Thank you, Victoria. Our wedding is still about three days away."

"I said it early on purpose so your wedding would run smoothly." Victoria immediately grabbed Ansel’s hand. "Ansel, I’m tired. I’m going home now."

Victoria was furious to see Matthias embraced tightly by Amber, making her body feel hot all the way home. She felt like ranting all the way home, but she also felt embarrassed to do so openly in front of Ansel. So, for now, she preferred to remain silent and stare out the window.

"Are you angry?" Ansel asked while focusing on driving.

"Yes, actually I was angry because Matthias couldn’t do anything earlier."

"But, I know Matthias feels uncomfortable being treated so excessively by Amber. Can’t you see the look on his face?"

"I don’t care. He’s not my husband anymore."

"Don’t be so cold to him. He must have missed you a lot, too."

"I’ve decided to accept tomorrow as it comes."

"Are you ready to hear the final verdict tomorrow? Are you ready to let Matthias marry your enemy?"
