Chapter 168: Chapter 168: The Chaos Part III
Matthias and Amber’s wedding ended in complete chaos after Matthias messed everything up. Everyone immediately began criticizing Amber, and even several prominent reporters published articles detailing Amber’s true nature, which was truly corrupt and merely a facade. Meanwhile, Amber’s parents were helpless as their children committed crimes solely for their own selfish purposes.
Matthias simply stood there, waiting for the police to arrive, rushing to the venue to arrest Amber. Now, Amber couldn’t do anything to Victoria. This made Victoria incredibly proud of Matthias for daring to do this reckless act without thinking twice.
Victoria wasn’t satisfied with her insults. She walked over to her increasingly pale foe and examined him from head to toe.
"I really didn’t expect you to be trying to kill me all this time. I never intended to be your enemy."
Amber glared at her opponent without hesitation. "This is all because you stole Matthias from me! If you hadn’t taken him, I wouldn’t have gone this far!"
"Wouldn’t it be more likely that you stole Matthias from me?" Victoria laughed awkwardly, feeling envious when looking at the mermaid gown her enemy was wearing. "You’re so unsuitable for this wedding dress. You look fat, and mermaid gowns are only for skinny women."
"I won’t forgive you, Victoria!"
"I won’t forgive you either because you tried to kill me so that my baby would die too! You didn’t want my baby to be born into this world from the start!"
Amber laughed evilly until her face turned red. "You really are so stupid, Victoria! You think I’m the only one who wants your baby dead!"
Matthias quickly acted as his wife’s shield. "Watch your mouth, Amber! How dare you bring up my baby’s death again!"
"Just so you know, the main cause of your baby’s death wasn’t me, but someone else. And you’re blaming all the blame on me!"
"I’m so sick of you, Amber! It’s no use trying to cover up your crimes, but I already have all the evidence!" Matthias grabbed his wife’s hand openly. "Don’t ever bother Victoria again! Reflect on all your evil deeds in prison!"
Victoria folded her arms. "Are you still denying your evil deeds towards me all this time?"
"I still don’t want to let you marry Matthias! He should be mine!" Amber screamed as she threw her crown to the floor.
"That’s enough, Amber!"
Hearing Lucretia’s shout, Amber immediately felt her body stiffen in place. Even Matthias and Victoria felt nervous facing the old woman, known for being quite cruel. Especially if Lucretia were betrayed by someone she trusted, she would surely harbor a grudge against them.
"Mother, I was actually slandered! Victoria stole Matthias from me all this time!"
This time, Lucretia also wanted revenge. She grabbed a glass, splashed it in Amber’s face, and slapped her hard.
Everyone who witnessed Lucretia’s actions immediately went wild. Some of them immediately recorded the incident on their phones and posted the videos on social media.
Even Matthias didn’t expect his mother to be so openly brutal. She had always maintained a graceful demeanor to maintain her dignity. Victoria was also shocked to witness the unexpected scene firsthand. She had never been treated so rudely and disrespectfully before.
Amber was now utterly embarrassed by the foolish old woman’s public humiliation. She stroked her swollen cheek, now drenched from the splash.
"How dare you deceive me all this time?! I believed you when you said you were pregnant. But you weren’t! Then, you had the nerve to fake a pregnancy test!"
"Not only that. He even made a fake necklace to mislead me about Matthias."
Lucretia looked at her daughter-in-law with pity. "I should have let Victoria be my daughter-in-law from the start."
Amber immediately knelt down and rubbed her palms together furiously. "Mother, please forgive me just this once."
"I will never forgive you because I am so disappointed in you!" Lucretia turned around and patted her son on the shoulder. "Well done, my son. You are very smart to do all this alone to protect the woman you love."
Matthias lowered his head. "Mom, don’t you want to go home first?"
"I want us to go home with Victoria too. She should have dinner at our house later."
Victoria narrowed her eyes as she stared at her husband, who was still smiling casually. She was still unaccustomed to her mother-in-law acting so kindly in front of her.
"You don’t have to be afraid of my mother anymore."
"Can I really have dinner at your house?"
Lucretia immediately looked away nervously. "If you don’t want to have dinner with us, you’ll regret it."
Victoria smiled brightly. "Thank you for inviting me, Mom."
Amber was furious to see Victoria and Lucretia’s growing closeness, even though she was now handcuffed by the police for all the crimes she had been accused of. She still wanted to talk to Matthias, as she felt she wasn’t the main culprit. She let go of the police officer’s hand and approached Matthias with a pleading expression.
"Did you think all your troubles were over?" Amber laughed evilly, glaring at Fransisca, who was enjoying her wine from a distance. "Actually, there’s still someone out there who wants to harm you!"
Matthias smiled sarcastically, lifting his enemy’s chin. "You have no right to interfere in that matter. Victoria and I can resolve our own problems!"
"I’m still confused, Matthias! Why do you want to be Victoria’s boyfriend so badly? And why did your mother accept Victoria so easily? Didn’t your mother hate Victoria before?"
"You don’t need to know!"
"Is this because Victoria got pregnant out of wedlock?"
Matthias moved his lips closer to Amber’s ear. "I forgot to tell you one important thing so you don’t misunderstand. You’re actually the villain who stole me from Victoria."
"No. Victoria was the one who stole you!"
"Victoria is my real wife."
"What?!"
Matthias openly put his arm around his wife’s shoulder affectionately. "This is why I wasn’t interested in you from the start. Because I’m married to Victoria."
