Chapter 698 To Give or Not to Give

Feng Feng stared at the message, unable to process it. Gu Song wouldn't have asked this question for no reason. If Shen Su hadn't shown any signs, he wouldn't be so bored.

Did Shen Su break up with Ji Tong and now remember his ex-fucked friend?

Seeing she didn't reply, Gu Song continued: [He never really got over you. It's partly my fault. I kept urging him to start a new relationship, which is why he started dating Ji Tong.]

Gu Song: [He's played the field for too long, with women always chasing him. Neither of us had experience before, and I gave him all sorts of bad advice, confusing him. Everyone knew about you and Wen Zhouyuan that day. Shen Su regrets it now.]

Feng Feng stared at the long message, a faint smile playing on her lips.

Regret what? Regretting his assumption about her relationship with Wen Zhouyuan, or regretting dating Ji Tong?

Gu Song's words were an attempt to make excuses for Shen Su. Even with his seemingly kind words, Feng Feng could see his motive. What did he mean, he couldn't let her go, so he started dating Ji Tong?

Wasn't this subtly shifting the blame onto her, as if everything started because of her? And now, she was expected to step forward and resolve it.

Feng Feng found it amusing. Gu Song and Shen Su were indeed cut from the same cloth. Expecting them to treat others as equals was impossible.

When words don't align, silence is golden. Feng Feng decided not to reply. Just as she was about to put her phone down, Gu Song sent another message: [Shen Su isn't worse than Li Yue, is he? Think about it again.]

There it was. Men's tactics never changed. They would never admit they were inferior to someone else, only that women had poor judgment.

Feng Feng picked up her phone and replied: [Shen Su isn't worthy of being compared to Li Yue.]

After sending the message, Feng Feng set Gu Song's messages to do not disturb and placed her phone on the bedside table to charge.

By then, Li Yue had also finished his shower and returned. He sat down beside her. "Does your back still hurt? Let me rub it for you."

With that, he helped her sit up.

Feng Feng leaned against Li Yue's leg, feeling his hands massaging her back. She closed her eyes in pleasure, a soft sound escaping her.

Hearing this, Li Yue's throat grew hot again.

At that moment, Feng Feng asked him, "Why did you take so long in the shower? What were you doing?"

Li Yue retorted in a hoarse voice, "What do you think?"

Although Feng Feng's eyes were closed, her hand expertly found him. Her tone was casual, "You're quite capable."

Li Yue: "Ms. Feng, if you keep teasing me, you won't be sleeping tonight."

His voice grew deeper, and his gaze turned dark and alluring.

Feng Feng opened her eyes and looked at him, resting her head on his lap. "Then we won't sleep."

Li Yue: "..."

Feng Feng: "Hmm?"

Li Yue: "You're going to kill me."

Feng Feng: "Are you willing?"

Li Yue's hand moved to her lips. "As long as you want it, I'll give you my life."

At four in the morning, Shen Su woke up from another nightmare. He sat up abruptly, drenched in sweat, his bedsheets soaked. Recalling the dream, he felt both angry and feverish.

How many times had this happened?

He had dreamt of Feng Feng and Li Yue being intimate again.

This time, he couldn't help but intervene. But after he pushed Li Yue away, Feng Feng slapped him, then pulled Li Yue back.

Without any hesitation, she knelt by Li Yue's leg in front of him, her indifferent gaze occasionally flicking towards him. Lust and anger were about to consume his body.

Shen Su got out of bed and went to the bathroom, taking a cold shower for nearly half an hour, but his mind remained clouded.

Li Yue stayed the night. After their excessive indulgence, Feng Feng slept until almost eleven in the morning. When she opened her eyes, the person beside her was gone.

Feng Feng stretched and got out of bed, walking out of the bedroom. She bumped into Li Yue, who had just returned from the supermarket. He was already dressed in sportswear, looking refreshed and energized, completely unaffected by last night's events.

"You're awake?" Li Yue said. "I went out to buy ingredients for lunch. Wash up, then rest a bit more. I'll cook."

Feng Feng: "What time did you get up?"

Li Yue: "Before eight."

Feng Feng: "..."

They had been intimate until past four in the morning and slept for just over three hours, yet Li Yue seemed as good as new.

She considered herself energetic, but the seven-year age gap was not just for show.

Seeing Feng Feng silent, Li Yue thought he had done something wrong. "What's wrong?"

Feng Feng: "Nothing, I just envy the energy of young people."

Li Yue chuckled. "You're young too."

Feng Feng: "Compared to you, I'm not that young anymore."

Li Yue: "Isn't that perfect then?"

He changed the subject so quickly that Feng Feng didn't even react until he said, "With all this energy, I can serve you well."

Feng Feng was momentarily taken aback but not embarrassed. That wasn't her style.

Her gaze drifted to his lower abdomen, and she said calmly, "Then work hard. It's best if you stay like this. I'll need you more and more in the future."

Gu Song didn't forget about Shen Su over the weekend. He sent him several WeChat messages in the morning, asking if he wanted to grab a meal, but they went unanswered. His calls also went to voicemail.

Worried, Gu Song drove to Shen Su's house. His car was parked in front of the villa, but no one answered his knock, giving Gu Song an ominous feeling.

He then contacted the villa's security and property management and used a spare key to open the door. On the living room sofa, he found Shen Su unconscious with a high fever.

Gu Song, along with the property staff and security guards, saw Shen Su lying there unresponsive. They immediately called for an ambulance. Gu Song didn't have time to choose a hospital and rushed him to the nearest tertiary hospital.

Shen Su's fever had reached 39.4 degrees Celsius. The doctor administered emergency IV fluids, drew blood, and took X-rays. He was diagnosed with pneumonia and required a few days of hospitalization.

Gu Song diligently handled Shen Su's hospital admission, selecting the best room. When he returned after finishing the paperwork, Shen Su had woken up.

However, his consciousness was not entirely clear. He looked around and tried to sit up. Gu Song immediately stopped him. "Don't get up, you're on an IV drip!"

Shen Su then noticed the needle in his hand. "How did I end up in the hospital?"

Gu Song: "How did you end up here? You had a fever of almost forty degrees with pneumonia. Luckily, I went to your place and had the property management open the door. Otherwise, you would have been lying at home with no one to notice."

Shen Su didn't respond.

Gu Song was unaccustomed to his dejected state. "How did you get a fever? Didn't you feel anything?"

Shen Su shook his head. "I don't know."

He just felt hot all over, thinking it was due to his dreams at night. He had taken several cold showers all day, feeling both hot and cold, and never considered he might be sick, especially since his physical condition had always been excellent.

Even Gu Song had never seen Shen Su feverish before.

He looked so weak.

Gu Song had many things he wanted to say to Shen Su, but he couldn't bring himself to say them.
