Chapter 297: Chapter 297: Godmother, please save me
"That idiot Austin Winters, he has no ability whatsoever and even dragged me into a second marriage!"
Cherry Lewis felt stifled these past days, but no moment felt as stifling as today.
"Sister, don’t you want to tell Grandma? You’re injured and divorced. You should at least let the old lady know, right?"
"What lousy idea are you suggesting now!"
Cherry said coldly, "Do you want to make Grandma so angry she dies? She’s just started recovering. I warn you, she must never know about my injury or divorce!"
"Oh, okay! But, sister, you can still go to your godmother. She used to be so fond of you. Seeing you injured, she’d definitely seek justice for you, right?"
Cherry was about to scold her, but on second thought, she found some sense in it.
Isn’t this the perfect time to turn to her godmother?
"Let’s go. Accompany me to the hospital to see my godmother!"
"Sister, your face... it’s swollen like a pig’s head. Can you even go out like this?"
"The worse I look, the more my godmother will feel sorry for me."
Cherry changed her clothes, took Zoe Lewis along with two bodyguards, and had the driver drop her off at the hospital.
However, upon reaching the hospital, she was stopped by the medical staff at the corridor entrance: "Sorry, Miss, the patient you mentioned is in the special care ward and cannot be seen without an appointment."
"I’m her daughter. Does a daughter need an appointment to see her own mother?"
Cherry’s tone was unfriendly, trying hard to suppress her anger.
Recently, everything was going wrong for her, as if the whole world was against her!
"Everyone needs an appointment to visit."
As soon as the nurse finished speaking, Isabella Weaver came over.
The nurse put on a smile: "Miss Weaver is here, please come in!"
Isabella smiled and nodded at her, casting a curious glance at Cherry before going in—Cherry had been beaten beyond recognition by Harry Hunter; even Isabella couldn’t recognize her, let alone her mother.
Cherry watched Isabella disappear at the end of the corridor and enter a certain ward, fuming with rage: "Didn’t you say everyone needs an appointment? Why doesn’t she!"
"That’s what the patient specified. Miss Weaver can visit without an appointment or asking for permission; she can go right in. Do you want to call the patient and ask?"
Cherry had naturally already phoned, but no one answered!
She was extremely impatient and simply had the bodyguard drag the nurse away and headed for the ward with Zoe.
"Once we’re inside, you must cry, make my situation sound as pitiful as possible. Godmother has a soft heart; she’ll definitely step in."
Zoe nodded: "I understand."
The two entered the ward and rushed to Shiely Morrison’s bedside, wailing.
The secretary and Isabella were in shock.
It seemed like a funeral; anyone unaware might think Shiely Morrison had died!
"Godmother, please save me. My father has passed, my grandmother is ill, and the Hunter Family wants to take over my family’s assets. Harry Hunter nearly beat me to death today!"
"Godmother, I beg you to save my sister. She’s in a terrible state! She only has you!"
Isabella finally realized who this swollen, unrecognizable person was—it was Cherry!
But when did Harry Hunter beat her?
Isn’t he at work?
Shiely Morrison was shocked to see Cherry in such a state: "Cherry, what on earth happened? How could Harry Hunter beat you like this?"
"Godmother, you must stand up for me. Harry Hunter is too ruthless! I did nothing, and he wants to take my life!"
