Chapter 2395: White, Red, And Black Worms.
This requirement that needs one mark of bondage for one divine ability is something that cannot be changed.
A mark of bondage is needed to control a divine ability and slavers have not been able to get around it. Not even mastering the Power Bond divine ability will change this requirement.
The only thing that the Power Bond divine ability changes about the divine ability is the level of mastery that the slave master will have with the divine ability that they gained control of from their slaves.
A normal slave master will have six marks of bondage when they master the divine ability to 100%. One at 1%, 10%, 20%, 50%, 90%, and 100%. So they can either have six slaves or one slave and five divine abilities that they control.
For them with three consciousnesses in charge of the pathway, they will have 18 marks of bondage at 100% mastery. Right now, their mastery of the divine ability is above 50%, so they can have 12 slaves or one slave and 11 divine abilities.
Sometimes, controlling slaves is better. Especially at the legendary stage. One legendary slave equals 7 divine abilities. If that legendary slave has two pathways, they can gain access to that divine ability.
But enslaving someone only means being able to control that person to use their divine abilities for the benefit of their slave masters. It doesn’t mean personal control of the divine abilities.
Sometimes, gaining personal control of a divine is better than controlling a slave. For example, with the Power Bond divine ability, a slaver can gain the domain of legends, the speed of travelers, the strength of giants, and so on and so forth.
Another example is gaining the divine abilities of a thief in order to use them to steal something like a Mindscape. This is something that their thief can never do for them.
There is also the fact that the Power Bond divine ability is necessary in order to properly control a demigod. All of these advantages that the slavers can gain from the Power Bond divine ability make the harsh requirements for its use acceptable.
Legion has many things that they want to use their new shining divine ability for, but first, they have two things that they wanted and even needed to do.
The first thing they wanted to do was to liberate the divine form of their pathway of slavery. They wanted to do this so that all of their divine abilities would reach the 50% mastery threshold. They also wanted to get used to their new form.
All of their seven divine flesh have been united through the Power Bond divine ability. Just like how they can use the divine abilities of other pathways through the Power Bond divine ability, they can also use the divine abilities of all of their divine abilities through the Power Bond divine ability.
This ability of the Power Bond divine ability is the key to why they can unite all of their divine flesh and liberate their divine forms. As impressive as uniting every divine ability might sound, the liberated divine form might not be impressive.
In the case of the pathway of slavery, their divine form was a ball of worms. It was a large body made of wiggling worms. The wiggling worms had the same size but had different appearances, which depended on the mixture of the colors white, red, and black.
The ball of worms was large enough to fill up the room they were in, but each piece of worm that made up their body was tiny and unimpressive.
For one, they had zero strength in this state. After all, they were made of worm, and worms aren’t strong.
Secondly, they were very slow in this form. After all, worms aren’t known for their speed. In fact, they are faster walking with their two feet than relying on their worm parts for speed.
This form is entirely bad, though. This form grants them survivability in that as long as one worm survives, they will live. It will just cost them spiritual energy to reconstitute their body from one worm.
However, this survivability would have been useless if not for the fact that they can fly and their movement by flying isn’t slow.
Flying relies on their spiritual power, not their physical power, so their ability to fly is not crippled by their worm form. This will ensure that they can spread their worm form to escape.
After all, if they can’t scatter their worm forms and ensure that they can escape, it won’t matter if they can regenerate their bodies from a single form.
Be that as it may, slavers rarely use their divine form because it is weak and because it makes it very easy for them to lose control.
The divine forms of other pathways are strong. They even gain up to a three-times boost of physical power in their divine forms. But slavers gain no physical enhancement in their divine forms.
In fact, their physical power plummets in their divine forms. This shows that their divine form is not something slavers should use to fight. Their divine form is something they should use to escape.
As if that weren’t bad enough, the worm form is a great burden in the minds of slavers because they now have to control thousands of bodies in their divine form, not just one.
For many people, they have only had one body, two pairs of arms, and two legs all their lives. So it becomes a strain on their minds when they suddenly gain vision from thousands of eyes.
The thousands of perspectives and the sensation from thousands of bodies can be easily overwhelming for the human mind. This strain on their minds makes it very easy for them to lose their minds.
In fact, calling it a strain on the mind is an understatement. Even without the influence and temptation of divine flesh, slavers can easily break down and lose control because their mind can’t handle the sensory overload and mental pressure from their divine beast form.
