Chapter 248 Not a Surprise but a Fright

Mu Anxiao watched Feng Qishi's expression as the wind rose, then helplessly tilted her face and pointed to his pocket. "Your phone is vibrating."

"Don't run off," Feng Qishi instructed. He took his phone out of his pocket and opened it. It was a text message from Feng's mother: I've already spoken with Mo Mo. You'd better behave yourself, or I'll deal with you when you get back.

"What's wrong?" Mu Anxiao asked, looking at Feng Qishi's visibly green face.

"Nothing," Feng Qishi replied, dimming his phone and putting it back in his pocket. "Do you really want to be a cleaner here?"

"No, I've already found a job," Mu Anxiao said calmly.

"You found a job? Doing what?" Feng Qishi asked curiously.

"It's none of your business."

"As long as you don't do any job that embarrasses me, I don't care."

"What does it have to do with you what I do? I don't feel ashamed, so what right do you have to feel ashamed for me?"

"Do we know each other?" Feng Qishi suddenly asked.

Mu Anxiao had already anticipated Feng Qishi would ask this. So she said, "If I end up working here, you can pretend not to know me."

"I can't. Besides, I told the head teacher yesterday that you were my nanny. If you come to work here today, how will you make me look to my head teacher?" Feng Qishi said righteously.

Mu Anxiao remained unfazed. "So what."

"I can't get through to you," Feng Qishi said, glaring at Mu Anxiao. The phone in his pocket began to vibrate again.

"It's a call," Mu Anxiao pointed to his pocket.

"I know," Feng Qishi said, taking out his phone again and answering it. "Hello, is this Shi Mo Mo?"

"Qishi, Auntie told you then," Shi Mo Mo said, standing at the school gate and looking at the teaching building. She smiled. "Honestly, I wanted to give you a surprise."

"This is a shock to me," Feng Qishi said coldly.

"Qishi, we can still get to know each other," Shi Mo Mo said in a gentle voice.

Feng Qishi glanced at Mu Anxiao, who had turned her face away, and said, "I'm fine now. You can go back."

"No, Auntie said you have to accompany me."

"What?" Feng Qishi curled his lips.

Mu Anxiao glanced at Feng Qishi, walked past him to the window, and happened to see Shi Mo Mo standing at the school gate. Then she looked at the disc in her hand and frowned. "Why is there activity again?" As she spoke, she tilted her head to look at the gradually darkening sky.

Feng Qishi heard Mu Anxiao's voice, so he paused his conversation with Shi Mo Mo and turned to look at Mu Anxiao, asking, "What's wrong?"

Mu Anxiao ignored him and continued to observe the darkening sky.

Feng Qishi casually hung up the phone and rushed to Mu Anxiao's side, looking up at the dim sky. "What's going on? It's going to rain."

"No, there's a demon," Mu Anxiao said. As she placed one hand on the window frame and was about to jump down, Feng Qishi asked, "Why aren't those pedestrians and security guards reacting?"

"Mortal eyes cannot see," Mu Anxiao explained briefly, putting the disc back into her pocket.

"You..." Feng Qishi had just uttered one word when his phone rang again.

Mu Anxiao glanced at the constantly vibrating and lighting-up screen in Feng Qishi's hand and said, "Answer it, I'm leaving." With that, she supported herself with both hands and flipped out the window.

Feng Qishi anxiously watched Mu Anxiao's departing figure and hurriedly answered the phone. "Wait for me at the school gate. Drive the car away. The security guards will start talking about me again soon."
