The woman, however, did not stop.
Mu Anxiao helplessly stopped calling out and hurried to catch up,绕到了 the woman's front. "Is this yours?" she asked, rubbing the wallet on herself before handing it to the woman.
Startled, the woman stopped and looked at Mu Anxiao. "Did you just call me?"
"Yes, this, is it yours?" Mu Anxiao asked again, still holding out the wallet.
The woman then reached out and took the wallet. "It's mine, thank you," she said.
"You're welcome," Mu Anxiao replied, shaking her head.
Looking at Mu Anxiao, the woman smiled and took out a hundred yuan from her wallet, offering it to Mu Anxiao. "Here."
Mu Anxiao looked down at the hundred yuan the woman handed her. "What is this for?"
"My bank card and ID are in this wallet. If you hadn't found it, I would be in big trouble. You..."
"Even if it wasn't me, someone else would have found it and sent it to the park's lost and found. So, no, thank you," Mu Anxiao said, lowering her hand.
"Then thank you," the woman said with a smile.
Mu Anxiao shook her head, walked around the woman, and left.
The woman looked at Mu Anxiao's retreating back, put the money back into her wallet, and continued walking forward.
A few minutes later, the woman arrived at the gate of a courtyard and called out, "Liu Xian, Mom's here."
Inside the room, Liu Xian, hearing the woman's shouts outside, stood up from the bedside, a bead of cold sweat on his brow. "I'm leaving now."
"Go ahead," Fan Yan said, cupping his fist. "Good luck."
"Thank you for your kind words," Liu Xian replied. He pulled up his pants and ran out of the room quickly, seeing the woman about to start singing again. "Mom, I'm here!" he called out.
Seeing Liu Xian emerge, the woman broke into a smile. "Xian'er," she said, her expression stiffening slightly. "Your clothes are too casual."
Liu Xian walked up to his mother and looked down at his own attire. "I think they look quite good."
The woman reached out and straightened the wrinkled collar of Liu Xian's shirt. She glanced at her watch. "Forget it, there's no time to change. This will have to do."
"I think it's fine," Liu Xian mumbled. He then looked at his mother's makeup and smiled. "Mom, your makeup seems a bit heavy. And your high heels, doesn't it hurt to walk in them?"
"This is called being formal," the woman said, glancing sideways at Liu Xian. "What do you know?"
"I don't know anything," Liu Xian replied, shaking his head slightly. "Let's go."
"Alright," the woman said, extending her hand.
"What for?" Liu Xian asked, confused.
The woman's gaze swept over him. "You're not very steady on your feet. If you support me, it will be better."
"Mom, as long as you're happy," Liu Xian said, taking his mother's arm.
At the park entrance, Feng Qishi stood behind Mu Anxiao and looked at the steamed buns she had taken. "You really like steamed buns, don't you?"
"Here's your change," the vendor said, handing the change to Mu Anxiao.
Mu Anxiao took the change and casually said, "Thanks." She then turned and walked directly past Feng Qishi towards the bus stop.
Feng Qishi touched his stomach and turned to follow Mu Anxiao. "Why aren't you talking to me?"
Mu Anxiao glanced at Feng Qishi and whispered, "There are so many people. If I talk to you, people might misunderstand. Are you stupid?"
"I thought you didn't care," Feng Qishi said.
Mu Anxiao pretended not to hear Feng Qishi and began eating her steamed bun.
Meanwhile, Liu Xian had arrived at the car with his mother. He then remembered something and looked down at his mother's high heels. "You weren't driving in those heels just now, were you?"
"No, I have canvas shoes in the car. I just changed into them after getting out," the woman replied.
"I knew it. You're not someone who would disregard the rules," Liu Xian said, opening the passenger door. "Get in."
The woman looked at Liu Xian without a word.
Then, a gust of cool air drifted out of the car. Liu Xian blinked in surprise. "Mom, you're too trusting. You didn't even turn off the engine when you got out, and you left the air conditioning on? You're really carefree."
"No, your aunt is in the car," the woman said with a smile. She pulled Liu Xian's hand away from the passenger door. "I'll sit in the back." With that, she closed the door, moved to the rear, and opened the back door.
Liu Xian was taken aback. The moment the woman got in, he turned his head and gasped.
Then, the woman looked at the elderly woman who was introducing the blind date and said, "I didn't tell him, so he's a bit surprised."
"I told you to tell him. The child doesn't even talk to me," the matchmaker said unhappily, looking at Liu Xian who was still standing by the passenger door.
The woman smiled faintly, then rolled down the window and shouted at the back of Liu Xian's head, "Get in! What are you waiting for?"
Hearing this, Liu Xian snapped back to reality, turned, walked around the front of the car to the driver's door, paused, opened the door, and got in.
"Hello," the matchmaker greeted cautiously.
"Hello, Auntie," Liu Xian replied, closing the door and fastening his seatbelt.
"I'm the one who introduced the girl. It's okay if you don't like her. You... please don't reject her too directly," the matchmaker said.
Liu Xian started the car. "I understand, don't worry," he said.
"Good boy," the matchmaker smiled.
"Xian'er, can you tell me what type of girl you like? That way, it will be easier to find someone," the woman said.
The matchmaker smiled. "Yes, yes, be clear about it. It makes it easier to find someone."
Liu Xian turned his head slightly. "The type of girl I like is too unattainable. Just find someone according to your ideas."
"Your child is so obedient. Other people's children would have gotten angry by now," the matchmaker said.
The woman smiled. "My Xian'er is just obedient."
Liu Xian sighed, listening to the conversation between his mother and the matchmaker behind him.
Meanwhile, Mu Anxiao boarded the bus. Just as she was about to sit down, Feng Qishi stopped her. "Stand up, so I can talk to you properly."
Mu Anxiao frowned, looked at the empty bus carriage, and knitted her brows.
Feng Qishi smiled and waved his hand in front of Mu Anxiao's eyes. "Alright, now you can talk to me wholeheartedly."
Mu Anxiao cleared her throat and spoke mentally: You don't want me to sit, so you stand.
"Silly Mu, you're getting clever," Feng Qishi chuckled.
Mu Anxiao rolled her eyes at Feng Qishi. As she stepped forward to sit, several nails suddenly appeared on the seat. She stopped abruptly, looked at the passengers in the carriage engrossed in their phones, and asked mentally: Are you enjoying this?
"These nails are specifically for you. Don't worry, they won't poke anyone else," Feng Qishi said with a smile.
Mu Anxiao stared coldly at Feng Qishi's face and asked mentally: I mean, are you enjoying doing this to me?
"Yes," Feng Qishi winked.
Mu Anxiao glared at Feng Qishi helplessly and gave up on taking a seat.
