Chapter 384 The Casual Direction

Feng Feng glared, then shifted his gaze back to Feng Qishi's face.

Feng Qishi glanced at Feng Feng, then looked at Feng Sen and said, "Your mother dotes on you the most. Don't you find it amusing to say that now?"

"Although you don't respect me much, can you please not leave? We've lived together for so long. Can you bear to go?" Feng Sen asked.

Feng Qishi took a deep breath and said, "Whether I can bear it or not, this family atmosphere isn't suitable for an outsider like me. There's no need for you to say anything else. It makes no difference whether I'm here or not." With that, he stepped forward, walked around Feng Sen, and left the ward.

Seeing Feng Qishi leave, Feng Feng couldn't help but start crying.

"I'll go take a look," Feng Yan said.

Feng Sen glanced in the direction Feng Qishi had disappeared, saying, "You don't need to go, I'll go." He then chased after him.

After they left, Feng Yan came to Feng Feng's bedside and said, "Don't worry, Qishi will come back."

"Brother, what if he really leaves?" Feng Feng looked up at Feng Yan and asked.

"How could he leave? He's Mom's biological son." Feng Yan gently brushed Feng Feng's bangs aside and pointed to the breakfast on the table, saying, "Eat up."

"Okay." Feng Feng nodded and began to eat.

At the elevator entrance, Feng Qishi was intercepted by Feng Sen. "You're acting very strangely today," he said, grabbing Feng Qishi's arm.

Feng Qishi looked down at the arm Feng Sen was holding and asked, "Do you want to hit me?"

"Why would I hit you?" Feng Sen smiled faintly. "Do you think I'm like Mom, hitting people at the slightest provocation?"

"Over the years, I've been very disrespectful to you and rarely called you brother. And now I'm causing this scene unreasonably. If you say you won't hit me, I won't believe it."

"Don't let my usual demeanor fool you; I understand what's right. Mom has indeed been going too far with you lately, but I think you shouldn't take her words too much to heart. She's just..."

"Alright, I'm going down to get some air. Don't worry, I'll be back." Feng Qishi said, pushing Feng Sen's hand away, and entered the elevator with a few people.

Feng Sen stood at the elevator entrance and sighed, watching Feng Qishi.

Inside the elevator, Feng Qishi lowered his head, thinking about what had just happened in the ward. He felt inexplicably upset.

In Zhang Yan's room, Mu Anxiao sat on the sofa, resting her chin on her hand, watching Zhang Yan eat endlessly. She asked, "Do you have the phone number of your fake granddaughter?"

"How could I have her phone number? However," Zhang Yan took a bite of a fried dough stick, "I don't think Hu Yuan will be tracking Ma Yan anymore, right?"

"Explain."

After finishing the last bite of his fried dough stick, Zhang Yan said, "I already made a move. Besides, given the current state of the wolf demon, it shouldn't be able to do anything, right?"

"That explanation doesn't hold water," Mu Anxiao said, and then she vanished.

Zhang Yan picked up his bowl and took a sip of soy milk.

At the hospital, Feng Qishi arrived at the hospital pavilion, yawned, took out his phone, hesitated for a moment, and dialed Mu Anxiao's number.

On the other side, Mu Anxiao stopped walking, took out her phone from her pocket, and answered without looking.

"Hello, where are you?" Feng Qishi asked excitedly.

Mu Anxiao looked around and said, "I'm at Zhang Yan's place. What's up?"

"I had a falling out with my mom. I think we should talk about leaving," Feng Qishi said.

Mu Anxiao dreaded Feng Qishi causing such a scene. She paused for a moment and said, "Wait for me at the hospital pavilion. I'll be there right now."

"Okay, I'll be here," Feng Qishi agreed and hung up.

Mu Anxiao took her phone away with a look of annoyance, waved her arm, and disappeared.

"She's gone," the large-headed fatty demon said to the small demon, hiding by the corner of the wall, their expressions sly.

The small demon looked in the direction Mu Anxiao had disappeared and said, "I think she's going to find that... Feng Qishi."

"Where is he?" the large-headed fatty demon asked.

The small demon looked up at the large-headed fatty demon and said, "How would I know? But at this time, he should be going to school."

"Then let's go to school," the large-headed fatty demon raised an eyebrow.

"Mm." The small demon agreed, then his eyes widened suddenly.

The large-headed fatty demon looked down at the small demon's strange expression and asked, "What's wrong?"

"Boss, it seems we've been discovered." As he spoke, the small demon pointed towards the entrance of the courtyard.

The large-headed fatty demon frowned, glanced at Zhang Yan, who was staring at them, and smiled.

Zhang Yan looked around, then walked up to them and asked, "Have you been here all along?"

"Not really, we just arrived." The large-headed fatty demon said in a somewhat coquettish tone.

"Just arrived, are you looking for Mu Anxiao? Or..." Zhang Yan narrowed his eyes, "mine."

"Of course it's..." The small demon glanced at the large-headed fatty demon and said, "Mu Anxiao."

"Oh, she went to school," Zhang Yan said. "Um, have you guys forgotten something?"

Hearing Zhang Yan's sudden question, the small demon and the large-headed fatty demon were taken aback. Then they exchanged glances, and the large-headed fatty demon realized, "Oh, right, right, thank you, thank you."

"Thank you," the small demon said with a smile.

"Saying thank you, but aren't you going to ask about the situation?" Zhang Yan asked.

"We trust your handling of things," the small demon said, patting his chest.

"Let's go," Zhang Yan concealed the smugness on his face and stepped aside.

The large-headed fatty demon gave a simple smile, "We don't need to go." With that, the two of them instantly turned into wisps of smoke and disappeared.

Zhang Yan's eyebrows shot up. He said uncertainly, "Mu Anxiao, should have gone to school by now." As he spoke, he turned and looked at Liu Xian and Fan Yan, who were standing at the courtyard gate watching him, and frowned.

"Boss, have you eaten?" Liu Xian leaned in and asked.

Fan Yan glanced at Liu Xian and gave Zhang Yan a simple smile.

"Yes, I have. You two go eat quickly," Zhang Yan said, pointing at the bags in Liu Xian and Fan Yan's hands.

"Okay, okay," Liu Xian smiled, then his eyes darted around and he asked, "By the way, Boss, is there anything else you need changed today?"

Upon hearing this, Zhang Yan walked up to Liu Xian and said, "Later, I'm going to a furniture store to look at a bed. You don't need to save dinner for me at noon."

"Alright, Boss. Um, Boss, may I ask," Liu Xian glanced at Fan Yan, who was deliberately turning his face away, and smiled simply. "Um, your granddaughter hasn't been back for the past two days. Will she... will she be back?"

"You mean that room, don't you?" Zhang Yan said directly.

Liu Xian chuckled foolishly.

"Has the wall of that room been repaired?" Zhang Yan asked.

"Yes, it's done. The师傅 (shīfu - master/craftsman) came today and did the finishing touches," Liu Xian said excitedly.

"That's good. Well, after this month, you can move back," Zhang Yan said, patting Liu Xian on the shoulder.

Liu Xian's eyes lit up, but then he thought of Mu Anxiao, and his tone became less enthusiastic. "What about your granddaughter?"
