Chapter 385 Deliberately Blaming Oneself

“You didn’t welcome her, did you? She recently found a job, and once her probation period is over, she’ll be leaving,” Zhang Yan said.

Liu Xian’s gaze flickered. “Boss, I never thought that.”

“Whether you did or not, you know in your heart.” Zhang Yan then glanced at Fan Yan. “Alright, you two, go eat. It’ll be cold and not so good if you wait any longer.”

“Got it,” Fan Yan replied.

Liu Xian smiled. “Boss, we’re going to eat.”

“Go ahead.” Zhang Yan did not show any change in his expression towards Liu Xian.

Seeing that Zhang Yan hadn't changed his expression, Liu Xian breathed a sigh of relief. “Okay, Boss.” With that, he and Fan Yan left.

Following that, Zhang Yan tilted his head back to look at the sky, thinking about Mu Anxiao’s approaching departure, and sighed.

At the hospital, Mu Anxiao appeared before Feng Qishi. “Aren’t you going to school?”

Feng Qishi was startled, then glanced at the nurses and patients passing by outside the pavilion. “I thought you would take a taxi.”

“It’s more convenient to do things invisibly. Tell me, what happened between you and your mother again?” Mu Anxiao asked, tilting her head to stare at Feng Qishi’s face.

Feng Qishi averted his gaze. “Actually, it’s nothing much, it’s just… I’ll be leaving the Feng family soon.”

“Leaving the Feng family,” Mu Anxiao repeated, and after a moment’s thought, said, “Alright, I suppose I made a mistake.”

“What mistake did you make?” Feng Qishi asked.

Mu Anxiao said, “If I hadn’t appeared, you definitely wouldn’t have had the idea to leave the Feng family. Because of my appearance, you became rebellious and your relationship with your mother reached this point. It also caused your mother to treat you even worse. Tell me, did I make a mistake?”

“This has nothing to do with you,” Feng Qishi said earnestly.

“Don’t comfort me. If I say it has something to do with me, then it has something to do with me,” Mu Anxiao insisted.

“No,” Feng Qishi looked down at Mu Anxiao’s face and said, “I asked you to come here to comfort me. How did it… become me comforting you? I’m the one who is hurt now, not you. You don’t have to be like this.”

“No, everything started because of me, and I must bear all the consequences.” Mu Anxiao didn’t know what she was saying, but seeing Feng Qishi’s helpless expression now, she felt she was doing the right thing.

Feng Qishi said earnestly, “You don’t have to. If you hadn’t appeared, I really wouldn’t have found any direction. It’s precisely because you appeared that I now have a goal.”

“What goal do you have?” Mu Anxiao asked, a bad premonition in her heart.

“My goal is to become an immortal, to become someone from above like you,” Feng Qishi leaned forward to meet Mu Anxiao’s eyes and pointed at the sky.

Mu Anxiao met Feng Qishi’s eyes. In them, she saw his seriousness, a seriousness she had never seen since she arrived. But considering some circumstances, she told herself she couldn’t agree.

“This goal is too great for a mortal like you. Moreover, you belong here and not to my world. If you go, there will be no results,” she said.

Feng Qishi’s eyes darkened. “If I die, will I be able to go with you?”

“What are you saying?” Mu Anxiao frowned.

Feng Qishi straightened up, shook his head, and said, “It’s nothing. You can leave now.”

“You are a mortal, and life is extremely important to you. Once you die, there will be nothing left. You’d best not have such thoughts. You are still young,” Mu Anxiao said, pointing at Feng Qishi. “In other words, how many young people with illnesses wish for health? You’d best not waste your life. What you’re doing is very irresponsible.”

Feng Qishi turned his face away. “Alright, I have to go back in a while. You can go.”

“You’d best…”

Mid-sentence, Mu Anxiao suddenly sensed a familiar aura. She swallowed the words that were about to escape her lips and quickly turned to look at Ma Yan, who was walking towards the hospital’s outpatient department not far away. She mumbled, “Why is she here?” As she spoke, just as she was about to step forward, she saw Hu Yuan lurking behind Ma Yan and muttered, “Not good.”

“What is it?” Feng Qishi stepped forward and asked.

Mu Anxiao did not respond to Feng Qishi and quickly ran towards them.

Feng Qishi looked at Mu Anxiao’s hasty retreating back, and a sense of unease arose in his heart. He then followed.

Upon entering the outpatient building, Mu Anxiao began searching the crowd for the shadows of Ma Yan and Hu Yuan.

Feng Qishi quickly caught up behind Mu Anxiao and asked, “What is it?”

Mu Anxiao frowned and turned to Feng Qishi. “Don’t talk to me.” As she spoke, she looked behind Feng Qishi and saw Ma Yan walking into the infusion hall. She mumbled, “What is that place?”

Feng Qishi glanced to the side and then looked at Mu Anxiao. “That’s where they give injections.”

“A place for injections?” Mu Anxiao heard this and, thinking of the process of the needle stick that night, couldn't help but step back. “What is she doing there?”

Feng Qishi ignored the surrounding stares and said, “Who knows… maybe she’s sick.”

“She didn’t come yesterday morning either,” Mu Anxiao said. She looked at the patients on both sides whose gazes were drawn to them and reminded, “You’d better not talk to me anymore. These are all patients here. You talking like this will only create psychological burdens for them.”

“Oh,” Feng Qishi nodded.

Mu Anxiao clicked her tongue. “Don’t reply.”

“Oh,” Feng Qishi replied again.

Mu Anxiao rolled her eyes and stopped talking.

Seeing Mu Anxiao’s speechless expression, Feng Qishi secretly smiled.

Mu Anxiao took a deep breath, walked around Feng Qishi, and headed towards the infusion hall.

Feng Qishi followed.

Upon entering the hall, Mu Anxiao immediately saw Ma Yan sitting quietly and receiving an infusion. Then she looked around and asked mentally, Have you seen Hu Yuan?

Feng Qishi didn’t expect Mu Anxiao to do this and couldn’t help but smile, tightly pursing his lips as he tried to reply mentally: No, I only saw Ma Yan.

“I didn’t ask you this. I saw her too,” Mu Anxiao said. She turned and looked outside the infusion hall. Hu Yuan was searching for Ma Yan in the crowd. Then, she quickly turned and cast a spell on Ma Yan.

“What did you do?” Feng Qishi asked, glancing at Ma Yan from the side.

“This way Hu Yuan won’t see her,” Mu Anxiao said mentally. She glanced and met Hu Yuan’s gaze as he turned around.

“He saw you,” Feng Qishi said mentally, turning his head to look at Mu Anxiao.

Mu Anxiao cast a sideways glance at Feng Qishi. “I know.”

“I think you can speak with your mouth,” Feng Qishi said mentally, looking at Mu Anxiao’s motionless lips.

Mu Anxiao rolled her eyes. “I am using magic to communicate with you. If I were to speak, even if you spoke mentally, I wouldn’t be able to hear you, you fool.”
