In the town where Gina was fighting, she and the Skyking were currently trying their best to get away from a stern female General riding a large grey dragon! This woman was Gruwen, the General who had been worried when Jaraht didn’t return early from his mission! The moment Gruwen had gotten the order from the Sovereign to clear out the town, she had rushed towards the town that was closest to the Dimensional Tear leading to Earth, and it just so happened that it was the same town where Gina had started her battle!
ROARRR!
Gruwen’s dragon suddenly unleashed a wave of fire towards the Skyking, and the Skyking quickly moved out of the way to avoid it!
’This bitch is relentless!’
Gina growled angrily as she felt the heat from the dragon getting closer behind her, and she quickly told the Skyking to dive out of the way as she gathered enough wind around her to form two large blades that shot towards Gruwen’s dragon! The dragon unleashed another wave of fire that tore the wind apart, and Gina immediately flowed into her next attack! She gathered more wind and formed it into a small rotating cyclone in her hand! Gina had been practicing how to create a cyclone ever since she first got her superhuman abilities, but it had been impossible for her to do it since she lacked both the power and the mana, but this time, Gina could feel her mana responding to her commands easier than ever before! Gina threw the cyclone in her hand to the side, and the cyclone suddenly began to grow into a massive whirlwind that drew in everything in the surrounding area! Gruwen watched as the cyclone blocked her path and began trying to pull in her dragon, but she drew her sword and activated [Emberstorm]! Gruwen’s sword erupted in a beautiful golden fire and Gruwen immediately unleashed a slash straight towards the cyclone!
BOOM!
The cyclone exploded in wind and fire as Gruwen’s attack took it out, and Gruwen quickly looked around to try to see where Gina had gone! Gruwen could tell that Gina was the one in charge of this group of soldiers, so she wanted to catch Gina so she could ask her what happened with Jaraht! But for some reason, Gruwen couldn’t see her anywhere! Gruwen was about to tell her dragon to get moving around, but Gruwen was surprised when she heard a roar echo from behind her! She turned around sharply to face whatever was there, and she saw a large dragon heading towards her at breakneck speed! Gruwen quickly began to move her dragon out of the way to avoid the flames, but she was shocked when she realized that the enemy dragon didn’t even look like it was planning to attack with dragon breath! It was just flying toward Gruwen like it wanted to collide with her!
Gruwen quickly told her dragon to move out of the way so it wouldn’t get hit, but it was already too late! The moment the dragon was close enough, it activated its Rook-based ability, and the sky above Radagan glowed with a brilliant white light!
[Kamikaze]!
KA-BOOOOMM!!
The dragon’s body exploded in a brilliant cross-shaped pattern that tore through the air like a nuclear bomb! Various other explosions rang out across the sky from the different towns around Radagan as many other Rooks also sacrificed themselves to reduce the number of attackers, and Gina watched from her place hidden in the shadows as Gruwen was enveloped in the fire! Gina and the Skyking emerged from the shadow a few seconds into the explosion and she watched more closely to see what had happened!
"Emberstorm."
Gina’s eyes widened in shock as she heard a voice suddenly echo from behind her! She turned around in shock to see Gruwen’s form slowly shimmering back into visibility! Her sword was pulled back with fire burning across its length and Gina knew that she had fucked up immediately! Gina had been so focused on the flames that consumed Gruwen that she never even thought that there was a chance Gruwen had escaped the flames completely! Gruwen had somehow used an artifact to vanish before the [Kamikaze] could hit her, and she had waited patiently for Gina to come back into the open!
’I can’t dodge, she’s too close! I need to do something!’
PHWOOM!!
Gruwen wasted no time as she swung her sword towards Gina, and Gina called on all the wind that she could summon! Every single molecule of air in the region responded to Gina’s command, and they rushed towards her like a tsunami! Gina gathered them with her mana, and she quickly formed a barrier of wind in front of her that was angled upwards so she could deflect the flames!
BOOM!
The flames slammed into the barrier with the force of a mountain, and Gina felt herself getting thrown off the back of the Skyking in one push! Gina slammed into the ground hard, but she still held her concentration as she tried her best to make sure her barrier didn’t break! Gina knew that she was seriously outmatched here! Gina was still only on the same level as an S Rank, and she was trying to hold back an attack from an SS Rank! Not even in her wildest dreams did Gina think that she could handle this! So Gina wasn’t surprised when she saw cracks beginning to form in her wall of wind! Flames seeped through those cracks and widened them, and Gina felt the temperature rising with each passing second!
Gruwen stalked forward while still releasing fire, and she stabbed her sword into the wall of wind blocking her from Gina and increased the magic output!
BOOM!
Another massive explosion went off right in front of the barrier, and this time, Gina felt her control break! The wind wall in front of her was torn to pieces and Gina put her hand up to her face as the flames washed over her!
CAW!
The Skyking quickly jumped towards Gruwen the moment the wind wall was gone and it tried to grab her by the shoulder, but Gruwen easily dodged it, and she jumped back when the Skyking suddenly released multiple iron feathers that would have stabbed her! She brought her sword up and released a massive blast of fire towards the Skyking, and the Skyking cried out as some of its feathers were scorched from the intense yellow flames! Gruwen was about to send another attack at the Skyking, but she had to stop when she felt an intense wind suddenly pick up in the region!
WOOSH!
