Ye Chenhan did not want to respond, and extended his arm, holding the phone out to Ye Ziyu.
He moved his lips, silently signaling for Ye Ziyu to speak for him.
"Ziyu."
Ye Qianzhi's voice came from the phone again.
This time, Ye Ziyu had no choice but to take the phone.
Ye Chenhan, as if dropping a hot potato, immediately smiled after getting rid of the phone.
Taking the phone, Ye Ziyu said into it, "Dad, I'm here, you can talk."
"Keep an eye on that guy. If he even thinks about escaping, you nip it in the bud."
"Okay." Ye Ziyu looked at Ye Chenhan in front of her.
After ending the call, Ye Chenhan immediately leaned over, "What did he say?"
"He wants me to keep an eye on you." Ye Ziyu tossed the phone back to Ye Chenhan. "You, just study here honestly."
Study?
Ye Chenhan pointed to his head with his finger. "Do you think I'm cut out for studying?"
He had never intended to manage the company since he started school, so his academic performance was not as good as his older brothers'. Later, although his university major was finance, he actually went to the art college to audit classes. His real major was bought with money.
Ye Chenhan would have been embarrassed to say it out loud. If Ye Shaoting showed him the files, he was afraid he would fall asleep just looking at them.
Ye Ziyu walked to the desk, chose a seat closer to the inside, and left the outer seat for Ye Chenhan.
"Everyone's here." Ye Yubin walked in from the door.
Seeing Ye Yubin holding files, Ye Chenhan's face changed drastically. "Third Brother, are these for us?"
"No, they're for Ziyu." Ye Yubin placed the files on the desk. "These are all the important contracts from the Ye Corporation over the years and some of the company's development history. Ziyu just returned and doesn't know much about the Ye Corporation yet. Don't rush to learn other things, first understand the company."
The files were as high as a zhang. It would take ages to finish reading them all.
Ye Ziyu asked, "Do I have to read all of them?"
"A general overview is fine. If you want to understand thoroughly, you can read them all," Ye Yubin said.
Ye Chenhan walked over and placed his hand on the files. "My eyes will be ruined if I finish them. Ziyu, just skim through them, and if you don't understand anything, just ask me."
Did one really need to read these files to understand the Ye Corporation? A quick search online would clarify everything immediately.
"You two stay here. I have other things to do and can't accompany you." Ye Yubin said goodbye and left.
The files remained where they were. Ye Ziyu didn't even glance at them and opened the computer in front of her.
Hearing the sound, Ye Chenhan curiously went behind her to see what she was doing.
"That's smart!" Ye Chenhan exclaimed, "I didn't even think of that. It still has to be you!"
"Don't laugh at me. This can all be found on the computer. What can't be found still requires reading the files Third Brother sent," Ye Ziyu said.
However, she didn't understand why Ye Yubin would send her these old files. Would they be useful later?
If they wanted her to get up to speed faster, they could have let her visit each department. Wouldn't that make it easier to understand the company?
If they truly disliked her, then these files were just meant to make things difficult.
Seeing Ye Ziyu sitting still, Ye Chenhan nudged her shoulder. "What are you thinking about so intently?"
"Nothing, just bored."
"Bored, indeed. The old man insists on forcing people he doesn't like into the company. Finally, there's someone who understands how I feel."
Ye Ziyu listened to Ye Chenhan's complaints, but her boredom was different from his. She just felt that these people were playing little games, making things utterly boring and uninteresting.
She began to seriously read the company's news from previous years. The sooner she finished, the sooner she could start her real studies.
Ye Chenhan curled up on the sofa and dozed off.
In the blink of an eye, it was lunchtime.
Since it was Ye Ziyu's first time at the company, Ye Shaoting, as the eldest son of the Ye family, paid out of his own pocket to treat them to lunch at a nearby restaurant downstairs.
