Chapter 424 A Choice Between Two

"How can one see a doctor at home without any equipment?"

Di Mingjue looked at the waiting doctor. "Lift him carefully. The injured area is his tailbone."

"Lift what? Didn't I say I'm not going!" Di Jianhan glared at the doctors defiantly.

The stretcher was lifted and then forced back down. If the patient did not cooperate, lifting him would cause secondary injuries.

"I'll see a doctor at home. If you can't handle it, go get Doctor Xu," Di Jianhan said, his words dripping with disdain.

The doctors were in a difficult position and looked towards Di Mingjue for guidance.

After a moment of silence, Di Mingjue asked, "Can you conduct the examination on-site?"

"A magnetic resonance imaging machine cannot be moved from the hospital. Mr. Di, you must go to the hospital. Even if another doctor comes, the result will be the same," the doctor explained tactfully.

They really couldn't understand him. He was clearly in excruciating pain, so why was he so insistent on being treated at home? It was just a sprain, not a terminal illness.

Di Mingjue lost his patience. He leaned down and asked, "Do you want to live or stay at home?"

"At home," Di Jianhan stated stubbornly.

Upon receiving his answer, Di Mingjue reached out and removed the acupuncture needles from his body.

The sharp pain intensified, and Di Jianhan cried out, unable to bear it, "You're crazy! Put them back quickly."

Holding the needles, Di Mingjue dangled them in front of him and said, "I can put them back, but you have to cooperate with the doctors and go to the hospital now."

It was a clear ultimatum. Di Jianhan was a hundred times unwilling, but he couldn't hold on for more than a few seconds before compromising.

He got into the ambulance, with Di Mingjue accompanying him alone.

Lu Sisi was tidying the displaced cushions and blankets. She turned to see Lu Sisi cradling her arm and puffing air onto it with a pout.

"You should get your hand bandaged," Jiang Ziyu reminded her kindly.

Without Di Mingjue around, Lu Sisi dropped all pretense and glared at Jiang Ziyu with a frown. "Do I need you to tell me? Do you really think everyone in the Di family has to worship you just because you know a little traditional Chinese medicine?"

The thought of how she could make Di Jianhan speak favorably of her with just two or three needles fueled her jealousy to the point of madness.

It was true, one person, one way!

Jiang Ziyu didn't bother with her, treating her like a discarded sunflower seed. If she didn't appreciate the advice, she would act as if she hadn't spoken. She hugged the blanket in her arms and headed upstairs.

"Aaaah~ Damn it~" Lu Sisi thrashed her upper body, shouting in exasperation.

...

After the examination, he was given a painkiller and was fine. The doctor's orders suggested staying in the hospital for a few days for observation, but Di Jianhan adamantly refused.

Just like at home, he acted like a child, clamoring to go back.

Unable to do anything with him, Di Mingjue asked the doctor to prescribe a larger dose of painkillers and then took him to handle the discharge procedures.

"If you had just done as I said, you wouldn't have had to go through all this trouble," Di Jianhan said, his neck in a brace, leaning sideways in the wheelchair as Di Mingjue pushed him forward.

Di Mingjue didn't bother to respond, pushing him directly into a crowded elevator.

The elevator was packed, and the confined space was filled with the smell of disinfectant.

Frowning, Di Jianhan looked disdainfully at the poor patients and their families around him.

The elevator doors opened on the second floor, and another wave of people surged into the already narrow space. Those in front were pushed backward, and those at the rear, unable to see, were forced to endure the jostling from the front.

"It's so dirty!" Di Jianhan's arm was grabbed. The person had accidentally grabbed him, trying to steady themselves, but instead, they were pushed away and then met with scorn.

The woman lowered her head apologetically, her conciliatory attitude evident as she quickly apologized, "I'm sorry, I didn't do it on purpose."

"Enough. What else can people like you do besides apologize?" Di Jianhan wiped the spot that had been touched, cutting off the other person with a scowl. Most of the people in the compartment were like this woman, inexplicably labeled as poor by Di Jianhan.
