"Director Jiang has bet all his company’s funds on this project. However, with the involvement of Di Jue Group, he has also secured several smaller collaborations," Wu Jie mused.
From the current situation, the Jiang Corporation seemed to be doing slightly better than before; at least the company was operating normally.
Upon hearing this, Mu Liangchen instructed, "Good. Everything will proceed according to the original plan."
After leaving the coffee shop, Wu Jie received a call from Di Dongsheng. Glancing at Mu Liangchen, who had not yet departed, he answered the phone and put it on speaker.
"Where are you?" Di Dongsheng asked urgently.
Wu Jie glanced at Mu Liangchen and replied slowly, "I'm out. What's up?"
The sounds of people chatting and laughing nearby echoed through the phone, along with the general street noise.
"The money has been transferred. Please check," Di Dongsheng said.
Wu Jie had claimed the money was for construction materials, and Di Dongsheng had not suspected anything, immediately transferring the funds to Wu Corporation's account.
Wu Jie exited the call screen and checked his messages. The money had indeed arrived. He showed the details to Mu Liangchen.
"Okay, I understand," Wu Jie replied. "Also, you've seen the details regarding the construction materials. Procurement might be a bit slow. Construction has been temporarily halted these past few days and will resume once the materials arrive."
"Handle it as you see fit. I only care about the results," Di Dongsheng stated.
Essentially, Di Dongsheng was the financier; he would arrange whatever Wu Jie needed from behind the scenes. He himself was fully focused on the shareholders of Di Jue Group. Upon the project's completion, it would also be the time for him to become the head of the Di family.
As long as Wu Jie's side did not falter, all his wishes would come true.
After hanging up, Wu Jie let out a sigh of relief. He wiped the sweat from his brow and looked at Mu Liangchen nervously.
"Everything is proceeding normally. For future matters, do not arrange to meet me alone. All communication should be via email," Mu Liangchen reminded him.
He was merely the one pushing events forward from behind the scenes, not the villain framing Di Dongsheng.
After they parted ways, Wu Jie returned to Wu Corporation. As soon as he entered the building, Alice rushed towards him from the reception desk, looking extremely anxious.
"Mr. Wu, why are you only returning now? Mr. Di is here," Alice reported.
Wu Jie looked at her flustered and hurried demeanor and casually admonished, "If he's here, he's here. Why are you so agitated? This is not your usual state!"
Alice blushed at his words, fidgeting with her fingers as she followed him to the elevator. While waiting, she explained, "It's Di Mingjue. He's been waiting for you in the conference room for an hour."
"Who?" Wu Jie was taken aback.
"The current CEO of Di Jue Group, Di Mingjue!"
The ding of the elevator arriving startled both of them.
Wu Jie hurried into the elevator, berating himself with unease, "Why didn't you call me?"
"Your phone was off. I couldn't reach you," Alice said.
He took his phone out of his pocket. Indeed, the screen was black. It seemed his phone had run out of battery on the way back after his call with Di Dongsheng.
He handed the phone to Alice and immediately pressed for more information, "Did they say anything? Why are they here at the company?"
Alice shook her head.
Upon Di Mingjue's arrival, he had requested to see Wu Jie. When informed that he was not in the office, they chose to wait there rather than leave.
Arriving at the conference room, Wu Jie stood at the doorway, apprehensive. Di Mingjue was notoriously meticulous; nothing could escape his keen observation.
"Mr. Wu, aren't you going in?" Alice inquired, her voice drifting into the conference room.
Shen Lin opened the door from inside, looking at the two outside.
"Mr. Wu, long time no see," Di Mingjue greeted him warmly.
With an awkward smile, Wu Jie walked in nervously, "Yes, I didn't expect Mr. Di to grace my humble abode."
