The two of them exchanged places, and Ye Ziyu went upstairs. She knocked on the door, then pressed her ear against it to listen to the sounds inside.

Groggily, Xingxing opened his eyes and looked at Ye Ziyu's face up close. "Mom..."
"What did you say?" Ye Ziyu leaned down and whispered in his ear.
His mouth was dry and rough, and Xingxing opened his mouth, but no sound came out.
Ye Ziyu helped Xingxing sit up and picked up the water cup from the bedside table. The coldness of the water could be felt even through the cup. She tested it and then put the cup back down.
As she was thinking about what to do, Ye Ziyu saw the carpet next to the pillow.
This seemed to be what he had given her last night.
While Ye Ziyu looked on in surprise, Di Mingjue ran up from downstairs. "He's still not awake?"
