Chapter 717 The Stone Opens

The delivery was made, and the sentiment was conveyed. Ye Chenhan happily returned to the company, bringing back two cups of coffee from downstairs.

"Coffee."

Ye Ziyu looked up at Ye Chenhan, who had returned from outside. "What's got you so happy? Did you win the lottery?"

"It's about as good as winning the lottery," Ye Chenhan replied, pulling out a chair and sitting opposite Ye Ziyu with his legs crossed.

Observing his relaxed demeanor as he drank his coffee, Ye Ziyu picked up the coffee he had just placed in front of her and took a sip. "Let me guess."

"You guess," Ye Chenhan said, raising his eyebrows, his face filled with anticipation.

"Did you go to see Xixi? And did you see her?" Ye Ziyu asked casually.

Upon hearing this, Ye Chenhan couldn't sit still. He excitedly sprang from his chair, looking at her in disbelief. "How did you know? Did Xixi tell you?"

Or was he that obvious?

Ye Chenhan couldn't help but glance at the window. The gleaming glass served as a mirror.

"The smile on your face is practically reaching your ears. It's obvious that something making you this happy has to do with Yu Xixi, no guessing needed," Ye Ziyu teased.

He was completely focused on Yu Xixi now, something he hadn't even shown for his band.

Ye Chenhan placed the coffee in his hand on a stool and hurried over to Ye Ziyu's side. "I like Xixi, but because I played a prank on her last time, she's holding a grudge. Why don't you help me and get her to be your assistant?"

"Do you think that's realistic?" Ye Ziyu asked, looking at him helplessly.

Liking her was fine, but one had to be realistic.

Yu Xixi was, after all, the daughter of the Yu family and was destined to be the heir of the Yu Corporation. She had agreed to be Gu Xiuyu's assistant because of the Yu family's plans to form a marital alliance with the Gu family. For some reason, Yu Xixi was no longer assisting Gu Xiuyu, but she wouldn't come to the Ye Corporation to learn either.

Seeing Ye Chenhan's dejected expression, Ye Ziyu reminded him, "Since you know where you went wrong, go and apologize. Young girls need to be coaxed. If you are sincere, she will forgive you. As for later, pursue her earnestly. There's a saying, 'Sincerity can move mountains,' and I believe your earnestness will bear fruit."

He understood the logic, but putting it into practice wasn't simple.

Ye Chenhan took out his phone, a look of distress on his face. "She blocked me."

If he couldn't even contact her, how could he express his feelings?

Ye Ziyu stood up from her chair, carrying her coffee to the window. "Then it's up to your sincerity. My phone won't be of any use to you. And you should be able to tell who Yu Xixi likes now."

Would someone who had someone else in their heart immediately turn and embrace another person? If they could, it meant their love wasn't deep.

Proactive?

Ye Chenhan understood Ye Ziyu's meaning. Love was something to be pursued through one's own efforts. If he didn't put in the effort, how could it be called liking?

"Help me set up a meeting with Xixi, and I'll handle the rest," Ye Chenhan said.

Actually, Ye Ziyu quite liked Yu Xixi. She was very pure and didn't have the airs of a pampered young lady. They were quite well-matched, both being lively and straightforward people.

Ye Ziyu turned back and pointed at the desk. "Take it yourself."

"Thanks." Ye Chenhan immediately took her phone. Looking at Yu Xixi's phone number, he hesitated, wondering whether to call or send a text. After a moment's thought, he chose to send a text.

Being a little mysterious might give her more incentive to accept the invitation.

After sending the message, Ye Chenhan began preparing for the evening's date.

"I won't be back for dinner tonight. If Dad asks, tell him I'm busy with work," Ye Chenhan said, returning as hastily as he was leaving.

Watching him so smitten, Ye Ziyu felt a pang of worry. Had her advice been right or wrong? What if Yu Xixi didn't fall for him?
