"Didn't you see? Miss Ye has already left," the policewoman said, looking outside.
"Left?" Ye Chenhan couldn't believe it. "I just came in from outside, I didn't see her!"
The policewoman immediately denied it. "Miss Ye has indeed left, about ten minutes before you arrived. Perhaps you weren't paying attention when you came in. You should go out and check again."
Ye Chenhan's right eyelid suddenly twitched, and he felt a sense of unease. He turned and walked outside.
The police station's courtyard was filled with police officers in uniform walking around, but no one else.
Fearing Ye Ziyu might have gone to the entrance, Ye Chenhan walked towards the main gate. He checked inside and out, but still couldn't find Ye Ziyu.
Returning to the police station lobby, he placed his hands on the desk and anxiously inquired, "Are there any surveillance cameras outside? Can you show them to me?"

He patted his empty pockets and continued to stare at the computer screen.
He saw Ye Ziyu standing at the police station entrance, her gaze inadvertently sweeping across a car opposite.
It looked like he had seen this car when he arrived!
Ye Chenhan pointed at the screen. "Can you zoom in on this area?"
The policewoman tried, and the screen shifted from Ye Ziyu to the car.
"I think I know where Ziyu went!" Ye Chenhan muttered.
Yu Xixi, standing beside him, turned her head. "Where?"
"I saw this car at the police station entrance when I arrived, and it looked familiar. Now that I've seen it again, I realize it's Gu Xiuyu's car." As Ye Chenhan finished speaking, the video showed Gu Xiuyu getting out of the car and pulling Ye Ziyu into it.
It happened so quickly that Ye Ziyu in the video didn't even have time to resist.
In less than two minutes, he had taken Ye Ziyu away from the police station.
"Damn it!" Ye Chenhan slammed the table in fury.
Noticing his anger, the policewoman kindly reminded him, "This is a police station. Please resolve matters calmly."
Calmly resolve?
Gu Xiuyu had actually abducted a living person in broad daylight, right at the police station entrance, so easily.
After Ye Ziyu entered the car in the video, the car door was never opened again. Her silence made Ye Chenhan even more worried.
Leaning forward, Ye Chenhan almost put his face close to the policewoman's. "If I report her missing now, can you dispatch immediately to find her?"
"I'm sorry, Mr. Ye, but to file a missing person report, we need to wait forty-eight hours before an investigation can begin," the policewoman explained.
Forty-eight hours?
If they waited that long, and something had truly happened to her, the best time for rescue would have already passed.
"What about now? Knowing she was taken by a bad person, we still have to wait forty-eight hours?" Ye Chenhan pressed.
The arrangement was the same nationwide, and they couldn't go against organizational requirements.
The policewoman looked conflicted.
Ye Chenhan got his answer from her expression. He withdrew his hands from the table, ran his fingers through his hair, and paced back and forth in frustration. "Fine, we'll send our own people to find her."
He didn't place all his hopes on the police.
Leaving the police station with Yu Xixi, Ye Chenhan used Yu Xixi's phone to call Shen Lin.
"What did you say? She called you just now?"
"Yes, Madam asked if you had arrived."
Ye Chenhan angrily patted the steering wheel. If he hadn't left his phone at the Ye residence, he wouldn't have missed Ye Ziyu's call.
