Chapter 517: Then let’s go all in!
"Namyanna, what’s wrong?" Ethan walked over, frowning.
This place wasn’t at all what he’d expected. It wasn’t some hellish nightmare like Inferno. Instead, it was a dazzling cave, glittering with tiny points of light.
Every stone was covered in glowing sea creatures—shells, starfish, little octopuses crawling around. From a distance, it actually looked... kind of cute.
"So, what exactly are we here to find?" Ethan asked instinctively.
Namyanna took a deep breath. "We’re looking for the Gorgon’s Eye. It’s the only thing that can kill Klorvax and his followers."
Andona stepped up beside them. "I’ve heard the legends. A cursed artifact with unspeakable power. If it so much as looks at you—you turn to stone."
Ethan’s eyes widened as it clicked.
So this "power" Namyanna had been talking about...
It was basically a massive crowd-control weapon.
Honestly, he didn’t think he needed something like that. In his mind, if you had enough raw power, you could crush Klorvax and anyone else who stood in your way.
But just as he was about to reassure Namyanna—
The stone wall beside them rumbled loudly.
"I’ve got it! It’s here!" Namyanna suddenly lit up with excitement. She rushed to the wall and slammed her fist into it. The whole thing crumbled into dust.
From the rubble, a small, unremarkable iron box tumbled out.
Without hesitation, Namyanna grabbed it and flipped it open, then held it out to Ethan.
"My Lord, this is the Gorgon’s Eye I told you about. Just shine it on Klorvax and his men, and they’ll all turn to stone."
Ethan glanced inside the box. It was just a stone eye—literally, a carved eyeball. Didn’t look like anything special. He didn’t feel any power coming off it either. If it really was that dangerous, shouldn’t he have turned to stone already?
But before he could say anything, a strange energy surged up from deep underground.
Ataneya’s eyes went wide.
"Oh no... We’ve entered Poseidra’s territory. The Abyssal Overlord!"
Ethan stiffened.
He didn’t know who—or what—the Abyssal Overlord was, but just hearing the name sent a chill down his spine.
"My Lord, we have to go! If he finds us, we’re screwed!"
They all turned to leave, not wanting to stick around any longer. But the power erupting from below suddenly sealed off the space around them, cutting off every possible escape route.
Whoosh!
BOOM!
The ocean roared to life, waves crashing with overwhelming force.
Then, from the depths, an old man appeared—floating in midair, towering above them like a figure out of myth. He looked to be in his sixties or seventies, but the power radiating from him was anything but frail. In his hand, he held a black trident, and waves of oceanic energy pulsed from his body, slamming into the cave walls with crushing force.
The pressure was suffocating. His presence was overwhelming.
"You’ve got guts, I’ll give you that," Poseidra said coldly, his voice echoing like thunder. "Coming into my domain to steal from me? Fine. Let’s see what gave you the balls to try it!"
"This is a misunderstanding," Namyanna said quickly, her face tense. "We didn’t know the Gorgon’s Eye belonged to you, great Abyssal Overlord..."
"Oh? And now you want to beg for mercy?" Poseidra sneered. "Too late."
BOOM!
He didn’t wait for a response. The trident in his hand pulsed with terrifying power, unleashing a wave of crushing pressure that surged toward them.
He wasn’t playing around.
—WHOOSH!—
Ethan’s eyes flared with killing intent.
Namyanna was his subordinate. And now this guy was treating her like she was nothing? That wasn’t just an insult to her—it was a slap in the face to him, her Lord.
BOOM!
A surge of power exploded from Ethan’s body. Before anyone could react, he rose into the air, floating directly across from Poseidra, eye to eye.
"I don’t care whose territory this is. I don’t care who this thing used to belong to. It’s mine now. And if you’ve got a problem with that—then fight me. But if you don’t know your place..."
His voice dropped, cold and sharp.
"Then I’ll kill you."
The words hit like a thunderclap.
Everyone froze.
"My Lord..." Namyanna and the others stared at Ethan, stunned into silence.
They all knew how terrifying the Abyssal Overlord was. But they were Ethan’s people now. His stance was their stance.
If it came to a fight...
Then they’d fight too.
The air went dead silent.
All eyes locked onto Ethan—especially Poseidra’s. The Abyssal Overlord’s gaze was practically seething with the urge to tear him apart. He didn’t even bother hiding it.
"...Heh..."
"Well then."
Poseidra suddenly let out a cold, mocking chuckle. His expression twisted into something dark and cruel.
"I thought you were just another idiot here to die. But turns out, you’ve actually got some balls. You want to kill me? Fine. If you think you’ve got what it takes..."
"Then come on. Try me. If you can beat me, I’ll hand over the Gorgon’s Eye myself. But you really think you’ve got that kind of power? Hah! Don’t make me laugh!"
He burst into laughter, deep and thunderous.
And then—
BOOM!
A terrifying wave of energy exploded from his body, crashing through the cave like a tidal wave. It wasn’t just raw power—it was divine. Oceanic. And something else... something alien, like it didn’t belong to this world at all.
But Ethan didn’t flinch.
His face was calm. Unshaken.
And then his own power began to rise—fast.
BOOM!
BOOM!
BOOM!
The ground trembled beneath him.
"If that’s how it’s gonna be... then let’s fight."
Just as Ethan was about to make his move—
Ataneya suddenly shot forward.
"My Lord, let me handle this!" she called out, rising into the air. A surge of mystical energy burst from her, and a massive spectral fox appeared behind her, floating in the sky.
"As your subordinate, I’ll never back down from a fight—no matter who it’s against!"
With a shout, she launched the fox spirit straight at Poseidra.
In an instant, the dark energy she unleashed collided with the Overlord’s crushing aura. The impact was massive—so intense it warped the ocean around them, even the space itself seemed to ripple.
"Then let’s go all in!"
Andona, the Angel of Death, joined the fray. Her radiant holy sword lit up as she dove into battle. Seeing this, Namyanna—the Tidecaller—took a deep breath, her eyes hardening with resolve.
Abyssal Overlord?
If that’s what they were up against, then so be it.
No matter who he was—today, they were going to win.
"My Lord, let us fight for you! You don’t need to lift a finger. We’ll bring you victory!" Namyanna said firmly, then leapt into the battle.
And now, the fight—Andona and Ataneya versus Poseidra—was in full swing.
Ataneya and Andona weren’t just anyone. They were Guardians of the Ten Sacred Orbs. Crimson Ultimate heroes, Tier 14. Their power was nothing to scoff at.
But...
This was the ocean.
This was Poseidra’s domain.
Here, he had the home-field advantage. Total dominance.
"Shhhhk!" Andona struck, her holy sword blazing with divine judgment. She brought it down hard—but Poseidra deflected it with a casual swing of his trident.
BOOM!
Ataneya followed up, seizing the opening—but even her attack couldn’t make him budge.
It was clear now—this guy was a monster. He was holding his own against both of them at once. No wonder Namyanna had been so wary of him.
But that was two-on-one.
What about three?
Or four?
Because Namyanna wasn’t weak. And neither was Ethan.
"FWOOSH!"
"Storm Tsunami!" Namyanna shouted, unleashing a massive tidal wave laced with howling winds. The sea surged violently, crashing down on Poseidra, who for the first time showed a flicker of surprise.
And in that moment—
Ethan moved.
In a blur, he shot forward.
BOOM!
The ground cracked beneath him as he launched into the air. Power surged through his body, condensing into a massive black-and-purple sphere in his hand.
Without hesitation, he hurled it straight at Poseidra.
