Chapter 44: Chapter 44: I’m Just A Security Guard!
All of them felt that Meera’s statement seemed more believable, and they didn’t truly believe Ananya’s so-called boyfriend even existed.
After all the person who shout louder tended to win the dispute in a crowd, same is applied here for her too.
Ananya was helpless and could not do anything but keep quiet.
In any case regardless of what she said, everyone will stood on Meera’s side, rather than tiring herself she should keep quiet.
That cunning, cruel look on Meera’s face, there was simply no way to defeat her venomous words.
But Aarohi who is seated close by, let out a tiny cough, suggesting Meera that she had overstepped her boundaries.
But Meera only acted as if she had realized her error only now trying to laugh it off.
"Oh, sorry, I was not teasing you, Ananya. I’m just being myself.
You know me right, I just fear that unless you tell us about your boyfriend, we won’t even get the opportunity to meet him."
Such a scheming bitch. She still had the audacity to tease and taunted Ananya’s predicament.
That was all in the minds of others at that time.
Ananya’s face burned with shame. She didn’t know what to do to protect herself after all she is in the wrong here, she should not have come with Alex in his car.
She could only swallow the hurt silently, tears already welling up in her eyes, regretting her decision in coming here.
But just then....
The door to the private room swung open.
And in walked Alex! Ever at time.
"Sorry, I got held up with something. It’s done now. Ananya, are you having fun here?"
Alex’s calm smile had an unforced quality of superiority as his eyes swept the room.
"You... how did you end up here?"
Ananya’s face grew redder after seeing him at such a moment and her heart began pounding out of control.
"I just finished work," Alex said lightly. "I knew you’d be attending your classmate’s birthday party... so of course, I joined you."
The room became suddenly quiet.
Once Alex entered, he attracted all the eyes towards himself.
Particularly the nine girls at the table none of them could take their eyes off.
Even their boyfriends sitting next to them opened their eyes wide in astonishment.
"This... this is not real..."
"Is that true, is that Rolex Daynotta on his hand..am I not seeing things right?"
The realization ran through everyone’s minds.
Because the Alex who stood before them was different from the Alex of his old fashion vibe. His worth, his presence—everything about him had changed after the upgrade by Riya.
Dressed in an Armani, Rolex sparkling on his wrist, his presence was light-years away from his old self.
As the saying goes, Clothes make the man. Nothing could be closer to the truth for Alex.
If rich boys wore low-cost shirts off the street stall, no styling, no haircut who would give them even a second look?
It was different with a Rolex costing more than a hundred thousand dollars.
A watch on a man’s wrist was more eye-catching than even a sports car, the real stamp of a rich man.
As the saying goes poor rely on cars to shine, while rich rely on watches.
And Alex was the epitome of it wearing Rolex.
And as for the Bentley he had just left outside the hotel.
When Alex pulled up to the Taj Mapel Hotel, the parking lot was already packed with vehicles.
But the keen-eyed manager immediately spotted his Bentley and hastened over, instructing the attendants to clear away a slot from the VIP reserved parking area for him in a rush.
But Alex was not the type to sweat over status. Hurried, he just stopped in a regular parking space and went inside.
A BMW 5 Series arrived a few minutes later. Its occupant noticed the vacant VIP space now taken and lost his temper at once. He slammed his door and stormed into the lobby, shouting to know who had stolen his place.
The boss nonchalantly indicated outside at the elegant Bentley that was casually parked in a normal space.
The BMW driver stiffened.
His rage dissipated in an instant. Recognizing the vehicle it was, he flashed a stiff, courteous smile, mumbled something to cover his face, and peaceably drove his vehicle off, without uttering a further complaint.
The whole room was left in mouth-agape silence at that moment.
Even though no one had ventured out, word spread like lightning.
There was one student who snuck a photo of Alex’s Bentley, typed quickly on her phone, and gasped.
"It’s the W12 model... over $300,000!"
The phone made a circle around the room, and before long, everyone knew.
$300,000!
The boys looked at each other, their pride deflating in an instant.
They had spent carefully on costly gifts, eager to impress tonight.
But tonight, in comparison to a man who nonchalantly drove a Bentley, their "luxuries" seemed trash like to them now.
To produce them would only be to embarrassing themselves.
And yet what hit them more than the cost of the car was Alex’s demeanor.
He was calm. Unfazed. Nearly uninterested, as if money was irrelevant to him. That sort of aura... it was more blinding than anyone present.
How could any woman ever dismiss a man like that?
"You’re Ananya’s boyfriend, right?"
The Class Committee Member Aarohi, at last broke the silence, her eyes shining with curiosity. "You’re Really amazing. What business do you do?"
"Or..." Aarohi paused, "are you from a wealthy family? Perhaps a second-generation?"
Alex shook his head at that lightly. "Neither. I’m just a security guard."
His tone was steady, completely serious.
But the room froze at that.
A security guard?!
How could a "security guard" wear a watch worth hundreds of thousands and drive a Bentley worth millions?
Everyone stared at him, dumbfounded. Was being a security guard really this profitable nowadays?
Shock rippled through the room once more.
