Chapter 565

Chapter 565

The night the Harry Potter movie marathon ended, the next day was supposed to be the day of the field trip to the 1st floor of the Corridors of Amuneta dungeon, but it was delayed.

Apparently, not all paperwork, aka permission, had been completed, and the four Supreme Wizards who were Anna’s teachers were still working on it.

Anders welcomed the delay and took the time to research dungeons. He and his adventurer group also took the time to complete their group’s registration with the Adventurer Guild.

Anton had to accompany his father and his group to the Adventurer Guild since Anders learned that with a high-level adventurer as a guarantor, they could immediately increase their rank to Copper. Since it was only one rank above Iron, they didn’t even have to pass any test.

One happy situation happened in the Adventurer Guild’s main office, though. Anders managed to purchase five unique class scrolls. The scrolls also came with skills that the job holder would automatically learn once they reached the required level, and the leveling process was just like an online game, wherein the job or class holders would just need to kill dungeon monsters to level up.

Anton almost blurted out that it was just like his Diablo II system, but managed to stop himself since they were in a public place.

Unfortunately, unique class scrolls were part of an auction, and Anton’s family had to spend the majority of the coins that he had collected over the few weeks that he was farming gold coins from the dungeon. They spent a total of 500,000 gold coins for the five unique class scrolls. Anton even had to go home to get the funds from the manor.

That meant that there were only around 100,000 gold coins left in the treasure room, but they still had a lot of the magic items that came from the dungeon that Anton had gathered.

Daniel and Ingrid only managed to identify bout 30 percent of the total items and spent around 10,000 gold coins doing so.

Anton wasn’t worried about coins since he did still have 164 high-level mana stones.

Using the job scrolls was easy enough. Those who wanted to change jobs would just have to hold the scroll and then rip it. The jobs were Arcane Warrior, Shadow Assassin, Blood Berserker, Sun Archer, and a Plant Druid.

They also learned that even mages could change their job using scrolls, but the downside was, all spells that the mage had learned would disappear. If Anders chose to change his class to one of the unique jobs, all the spells that he had learned would disappear, and he would never become a mage again.

Once they reached home, Anders and his mercenary group closeted themselves in one of the manor’s large halls to discuss the unique job scrolls. Even Anders was still not yet undecided if he would change his class.

Ultimately, Anton’s father decided to change into one of the unique jobs since Anders said that he didn’t have the time to spend memorizing spells to increase his wizardly rank. He wanted to focus on training his skills through combat.

Anders was torn between Arcane Warrior and Blood Berserker, but chose Arcane Warrior to complement the skills of the legendary items that Anton gave him.

Anton felt stupid for not knowing about the job scrolls, but if he was being honest with himself, it was not entirely his fault. He never needed to thoroughly research about class, job, profession, or whatever they call them in this world, because he already had his system. The most powerful people he had been in contact with were wizards, and he had never befriended anyone who had a unique job.

What he knew about classes was the very shallow information that others had told him about, and he never did profess any interest in them, so no one expanded that information.

Another thing that limited his knowledge about classes was when he joined the newbies in the beginner dungeon to amuse himself by using what he called a “Smurf” account; the adventurers that he had encountered all had basic classes, like warriors, archers, and mages.

Even now, he was not invested. The good thing was, he managed to collect a huge amount of gold coins, which his father used to purchase those class or job scrolls.

In the hall where Anders and his mercenary group were meeting to talk about the job scrolls, Anders decided to use the scroll for the Arcane Warrior. Anton was there even though he was not a member of his father’s adventurer group because, first. Anders was his father, and he wanted to make sure that Anders would be alright and would be able to heal him if something happened. Second, the funds that the group used to purchase the scrolls were Anton’s.

When Anders tore the job scroll, there was an actual special effect that occurred to the surprise of Anton. Purple light gathered from the torn scroll and then siphoned some sort of energy from Anders until the light glowed very bright above Anton’s father’s head. Once it accumulated a certain mass, the purple light finally entered Anders’s body.

Anton was worried for his father since Anders was in some sort of trance, but there was a trace of pain on Anders’s face. He immediately added Anders to his party system and activated the Prayer Aura. To his surprise, his mana immediately dipped down. Even though the mana that was being consumed was not much, it meant that Anders was receiving damage.

Anders’s pained, stunned expression continued for 30 minutes, and based on Anton’s calculation regarding the mana that was being consumed by the Prayer Aura, the damage that his father had already received was enough to endanger Anders’s life.

After around 45 minutes, Anders finally woke up.

“I received a lot of information from the scroll. It seemed like there was a failure rate for the job scroll, and the more unique and powerful they are, the higher the failure rate. The Arcane Warrior’s failure rate was actually around 70 percent!”

“Why did nobody tell us that information!” Anton shouted.

“The man who held the auction said to me that he needed to talk to us before we leave. I forgot about it,” One of his father’s men said quietly.

Everyone glared at the man, and Daniel said that he would talk to him about what happened later.

“Thankfully, you’re here, Anton. You’re healing spell saved me. That meant that whenever one of us wants to change our job through the scrolls, we need to do it with the presence of a healer, preferably with the presence of my son,” Anders announced to everyone.
