Chapter 284: About Damn Time...
The true spectrum of rage she was feeling at this moment was concerning, to say the least. The soldier she just killed belonged to the United Army of the other countries that fought against the Nazi army. She resolved herself in her mind that she would slaughter both sides. But the first in line was obviously the Nazi Army.
She started walking in that direction, but her body felt disgustingly weakened at the moment; it felt revolting how weak she was at this moment. She needed to be careful this time and tactfully kill enough humans to regain a certain amount of strength. Through which her body would also be healed. After walking for more than half a day, she reached the edge of the Nazi military outpost. Maneuvering carefully through some secret channels like a deadly assassin, without too much difficulty, she made her way into the outpost.
She continued to slit the throats of one soldier after another silently. If it were just facing humans, it would be no problem, but the power of modern machinery could indeed threaten her. So, she first needed to neutralize the stack of weapons, which were stored in certain chambers. By this time, the many soldiers she had killed silently were discovered, and a panic spread throughout the whole of the military outpost.
On that very cue, Sophia blasted two main weapon chambers by setting off bombs in those places. After that, things became relatively easy, as she killed the prominent leaders in charge of the military outpost, thereby thoroughly breaking the chain of command.
Countless bullets rained down on her nonstop. However, the power of her body and the white form of energy continued to increase indefinitely; she still wielded a dagger in one hand and a makeshift sword in the other. With each of her slashes of the blade or daggers, the bullets would all either be deflected or cut in half; any remaining bombs or grenades were also rendered useless as she would cover her entire figure in a protective dome made out of the white energy. She couldn’t use white Qi; with modern weapons, it was simply incompatible and inefficient.
As she was killing the permanently strengthened soldiers who were given the special serum created by her very own blood, she was regaining her strength at a faster pace than usual. This was another pleasant surprise, which she welcomed with enthusiasm. In three days of constant dogfighting, she finally managed to kill more than 20,000 of the Nazi army’s soldiers that operated the whole military outpost.
Thankfully, the United Army did not interfere in the massacre. However, they definitely witnessed everything and were likely to question whether their own decision was right or wrong. Sophia showed a cold smile. Now it was time to massacre the military post of the United Army. She now had the strength to do so. But first, she crafted a beautiful sword, spending two full days on it. A sword that could make the best use of the white Qi with the maximum amount of efficiency. A perfect type of weapon for her to kill with.
As she approached the other outpost of the other party in the war, with her own crafted silver sword in hand, she realized a subtle detail that she had missed, the energy she used and gained with each kill, was always pristine white, but now it seemed to be slightly darker in color, it was so subtle that it was barely noticeable but how could it escape her eyes, why did it subtly change color for the first time in so many of her reincarnations, and why now?
She didn’t put too much thought into it and looked forward to the unknown surprise it would bring. The united army of the outpost seemed ready to attack her if necessary. Countless rifles and machine guns, anti-tank short-range missile launchers, all pointed at her head, prepared to decimate her figure into a million pieces if she took even a single step forward. The commander in charge of the post walked to the front, just behind the weapons, but visible to Sophia.
He started speaking in an arrogant tone, "Sophia Haber, the monster daughter of...."
But before he could finish, the commander’s body was split in half vertically, in a perfectly symmetrical manner, as the two halves of his body dropped onto the ground. All of his internal organs, brain matter, and everything lay bare open for everyone to see. Sophia’s speed was now too great; her movements seemed like teleportation to the eyes of ordinary humans, as if she were a ghost who could appear beside you at any given moment, and you wouldn’t even know how you died. What followed was a bloodbath. All those powerful weapons, artillery, tanks, machine guns, automatic rifles, anti-tank missiles, everything was useless in front of her absolute battle prowess, coupled with her overwhelming speed and strength.
The white Qi continued to darken subtly with each kill. Many of the prominent Nazi army cities were slaughtered by her; she killed more than 5 million people by getting her hands on an uncountable number of missiles and bombs as she continued to take over one German Military post after another. No amount of preparation could stop her march. Everywhere she went, slaughter, destruction, and death followed nonstop.
Eventually, Hitler had no choice but to take her seriously, considering her to be even a bigger threat than the United Army. By now, the white Qi of hers was no longer white; it had a dark gray color, and yes, it was indeed connected to the number of people she kills. She had earned countless nicknames throughout her journey of innumerable massacres. The most prominent ones being THE PROFANE WITCH and Red Eyed Samurai.
Although she did not technically fight like a samurai, despite primarily using a sword in combat, the type of sword she used was never a katana, unlike the Japanese warriors, but this still led to the spread of that nickname, mainly among the Japanese faction.
Sophia stood on top of a 10-meter-long metal pole, wearing a pitch-black dress that appeared to have been woven from ancient times, yet its elegance and durability were undeniably striking. Something which Sophia made on her own. Using that very dark Qi, she now had access to.
She watched towards the distance, high in the sky; numerous black dots could be seen far up in the blue sky. The loud sounds of the engines she could hear were nearing her more and more. As they finally became visible, the things that were coming towards her were the airships of those times, which were much more basic and less functional. They were called Zeppelins and Blimps. Yet, they looked no less intimidating; all of them were carrying many explosives on every single one of them.
The bombs being carried on the airships were to be dropped on Sophia. Unable to take care of her monstrous existence, the Nazi army decided to adopt this over-the-top, desperate method. Sophia’s dress fluttered violently from the intense wave of wind; her red eyes remained unmoving, locked onto the hundreds of airships, each dropping an uncountable number of bombs on her.
But before the dropped bombs could even come too close to her, she waved her hand and shaped her now-controlled black Qi into the shape of hundreds of sword constructs. All of it flew in different angles, almost akin to homing missiles locked onto their targets.
While the silver sword on her waist was coated with the same black qi, she made a powerful horizontal slash that created a wave of crescent-shaped black circles that shot out and pre-detonated the bombs dropped from high in the sky before they could come too close to affect her. The previously shot-out black sword constructs hit each of the hundreds of airships, as the airships had to fly pretty close to the ground to drop the bombs on her with good enough accuracy.
Booooom!!!!!
Booooom!!!!!
Booooom!!!!!
Booooom!!!!!
CRASH!!!!!
CREAK!!!!
KREAKK!!!!!!
Many powerful explosions occurred non-stop, and all of the hundreds of airships fell to the ground with explosive sounds, the fuel tank on the planes causing an explosion on impact. All around Sophia, the airships continued to crash, the bombs continued to explode, but not a single one of them managed to touch her or the large metal pole she was standing on top of.
As if everything was within her calculations, she was untouchable within the battlefield, which existed to reap the lives of others, and she was the oldest monster that had ever roamed any battlefield and killed more humans than any within the entire history of that race.
Truly, it was an impossible spectacle to witness by any stretch of the imagination, hundreds of airships dropping thousands of bombs on a single individual, but despite that, she remained absolutely unharmed, unsurprised even. Even a specific area around her remained untouched.
While the supreme leader of the Nazi Army was watching this himself, from 1 kilometer away, using a powerful telescope. Many other military leaders also watched the same scenario right beside him, their faces so dark and unsightly that the silence itself was deafening.
While Hitler himself had a deep terror hiding behind his eyes, with a visibly grim expression on his face, he left. Not even knowing what to do after this point. Perhaps the United Army had not yet realized just what sort of monster they had released—an abomination who alone could become the beginning of the end to the entirety of humanity.
After this incident, the Nazi army avoided any confrontation with Sophia as far as possible, so she went to Japan, while the German Army actively avoided her; the Japanese soldiers did not; instead, they were always eager to face her, since she preferred combat with swords. However, the arrogant Japanese army, under the leadership of Emperor Hirohito, continued to suffer the same type of crushing defeat against the Red Eyed Samurai.
Until finally, on 6 August 1945, when Sophia was fighting against the Japanese Imperial forces, the first ever Nuclear Bomb was launched on that very location by the United States. The very bomb named "Little Boy."
Sophia instantly felt her impending doom as she saw the missile coming closer and closer. But she only smiled like a vicious monster that was waiting for exactly that. She chuckled darkly in amusement, "About damn time, J. Robert Oppenheimer."
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
And the whole world went white.
