Chapter 280: A Little Amusement…

Chapter 280: A Little Amusement...

They only seemed one push away from running for their lives; that is how great their fear was. Sophia’s head to toe, everything was painted in red. But she herself did not suffer a single injury; there was only the blood of the soldiers she killed.

Not only that, but there was a more concerning factor looming over everyone’s heads in the current situation: there was not a single trace of blood on the shining white sword of the bloody ballerina. This sent chills down everyone’s spine. Why was there no trace of blood on the very sword she used to kill so many? The amount of blood flowing at the center of the colosseum was concerning, to say the least. Every single one of the bodies was cut cleanly in half, just like the found dead bodies of the various royal families.

Countless large ballistic arrows were fired at her for the umpteenth time. But as usual, none could even come close to touching her figure. She walked back and forth, around the bloody ground, her gaze filled with contempt for the thousands of soldiers and the ones they were protecting. She smirked behind her mask, deciding on a particular play that would completely break them mentally.

She stated with a chuckle, her charming voice reaching the ears of everyone, "Why don’t I make a proposition and make the lives of all of you easier. I’m not really here for all you soldiers, you all do know that, right?"

But as soon as she said the words, her heavenly voice stunned every single one of them. It took a few moments for them to recollect their thoughts. They all exchanged grim looks with each other, understanding what she was implying, and Sophia verbalized their thoughts into words, "Let me through to your leaders, and I will spare all of you. A good deal, don’t you think?"

But the very next moment, they all became outraged. They shouted countless profanities at her, claiming that they were all honorable warriors who swore to protect each of their representatives, no matter what, even at the cost of their own lives.

She grinned while tilting her head, "That is completely fine as well, and I’m sure all of you know this too, that killing every single one of you here is no difficult task for me, it’s just a matter of time, nothing more and nothing less. But the fact of the matter is that not only will I kill all of you, but I will also find all of your families and kill them as well. So, either way, your leaders will die now, whether all of your families die alongside them or not. It’s for all of you to decide."

The grip of every single one holding their weapons loosened. They felt fear, a fear of seeing something truly evil for the first time in their lives. Even when she had killed more than 1,000 soldiers, she did not sustain a single injury, nor did she exhibit any signs of fatigue. Now the monster was talking about killing all of their families as if it were the most mundane matter in the world.

She expressed absolute confidence that she would kill their leaders, whom they were protecting, and how the soldiers were trading their lives to protect the leaders; now, the entire thing seemed pointless. After all, they were only willing to die, knowing that their families would be taken care of for the rest of their lives. They all realized how foolish it was from the very start. If the monstrous masked women in front of them could kill all the royal families, even the new leaders, who were all protected by so many of the powerful soldiers, and still end up dead. How could she not manage to kill their helpless family members?

The leaders from the back shouted numerous promises and tried to revive their morale, warning them not to be swayed by the words of the evil witch, but alas, it was already too late. 3211 Soldiers who remained alive, many of whom had major or minor injuries without exception, opened a path in between; even the most loyal of the guards surrounding the leaders stepped away from them in fear of the bloody ballerina.

The leaders all started to beg Sophia, who had tried to promise everything and anything in the world to her in the hopes of saving their own skins, but all talks were useless. They were killed in just one sword strike. With that done, she finally turned towards the soldiers, who all betrayed their own leaders. All 3000+ soldiers tensed under her bloody gaze. She iterated in the midst of laughter,

"Stupid fools, you all just betrayed your own forces, do you think they would spare you’re families or any of you, if you now go back. Let me guess, you all would blame the whole situation on me, and considering the current grim situation, your forces can’t simply abandon you?"

All of them tensed, but none denied her assumed statement. The heavenly voice of Sophia then took on a darker tone: "But that is only if you all can get out of here alive, isn’t that right?"

All of their faces turned utterly ashen, one of them asked in panic and desperation, "But....but....but....YOU SAID JUST NOW THAT YOU....would spare us and...."

"Well, I lied, and you all believed my words? How stupid!" she laughed.

Another, more smart one asked in a state of trembling fear, "But....but....you didn’t need to lie though, just like you said yourself, you’re strong enough to be able to kill us all anyway??????"

Sophia put her bloody hands on her chin, giving the soldier a long look. In these situations, it was rare to find someone so rational and level-headed. However, the young soldier was still shaking in apparent fear. She stated with a dark chuckle, "Well, I had to kill my own brother before coming here, so my mood was pretty bad, I would say, really, really bad."

"So, I had to do something to lift my mood."

"So yes, this whole thing was just a slight amusement for me to refresh my mind. It’s always wonderful to see how brilliant humans can be at times in preserving the lives of their loved ones. But also how idiotic, at the same time, and that fact itself brings me great amusement, at least for a few moments."

Sophia took a long pause, looking high towards the blue and bright as she declared with no emotion in her voice, "Since you all have served your purpose, you have my permission to die."
