Chapter 47 I Play Unspecialized

“You help me cover the quilt, and I'll leave you breakfast.”

When Ye Xiu got up to wash, he saw the sticky note on the mirror again. After tidying up and looking at the living room table, he was speechless. Three o'clock in the afternoon, what kind of soymilk and fried dough sticks was he supposed to eat? And cold ones at that.

But no matter what, the boss had specially left them for him, so he had to give her face. Ye Xiu grabbed a fried dough stick and stuffed it in his mouth, then headed out the door with it dangling there.

The internet cafe continued to be as popular as ever due to the Glory launch, but Happy Internet Cafe was big enough that it rarely had no seats available. Ye Xiu wandered around, looking for an empty seat in the smoking area. But when he touched his pocket, he realized his cigarette pack was empty. This was even more painful than eating cold fried dough sticks! Even more painful was that he was out of cigarettes and out of money. How was he supposed to live?

Ye Xiu felt he should ask the boss for an advance on his salary. She said it included room and board, but he didn't eat much, only one or two meals a day on average. He wondered if he could trade what he saved on food for cigarettes. But thinking about Chen Guo's aversion to smoke, Ye Xiu thought his idea would probably be hard to realize.

While he was lost in thought, someone patted him on the shoulder. He quickly turned around.

It was Chen Guo who had patted Ye Xiu. When Ye Xiu turned, the fried dough stick in his mouth almost licked Chen Guo's face. Chen Guo was furious and immediately started scolding him: "You've got a cigarette hanging from your mouth, and a fried dough stick too. Is there anything you can't dangle from your mouth? Can't you hold it with your hand?"

Speaking of this, Chen Guo remembered how beautiful Ye Xiu's hands were. It was such a pity for such beautiful hands to be smoked by cigarettes and dirtied by grease. Did that mean dangling cigarettes and fried dough sticks was right? Damn it, what kind of messed up thoughts were these? Chen Guo shook her head, glared at Ye Xiu, and said, "Come with me."

Ye Xiu followed Chen Guo toward the front desk. Tang Rou was sitting behind the counter. Seeing Chen Guo leading Ye Xiu over, she had already stood up and smiled.

"Tang Rou, Ye Xiu," Chen Guo introduced them.

"Hello." Tang Rou held out her hand. Chen Guo looked at her hand with envy. Ye Xiu's hands were indeed beautiful, but they were a man's hands after all. If they were on a woman, they would be a bit too big. But Tang Rou's were truly a woman's hands. No description like 'jade-like beauty' or 'soft, green shoots' would be an exaggeration.

"Hello, hello." Ye Xiu, on the other hand, had just stuffed the fried dough stick into his mouth in a few bites and was chewing vigorously, so his pronunciation wasn't very clear. Seeing Tang Rou extend her hand, he quickly reached out to meet it.

The two shook hands briefly. Tang Rou also carefully glanced at Ye Xiu's hand, but she was very discreet. She just casually glanced at it while shaking hands, and then her gaze returned politely to Ye Xiu's eyes.

The two quickly withdrew their hands. Ye Xiu's expression was the same as usual, but he was quite surprised, because he hadn't expected this girl named Tang Rou to be like this.

Appearance, figure, this girl was outstanding, but what made her feel even more extraordinary was the temperament she exuded. Her form, demeanor, and clothing were all impeccable. She was a legendary flawless beauty from any angle. It was just that her short hair was a bit unconventional at first glance, but after looking at it a few more times, it seemed to make her look even fresher and prettier.

But the focus of Ye Xiu's surprise wasn't this. He was surprised how such an outstanding girl would be content to work part-time in an internet cafe for nearly two years.

No matter how large Happy Internet Cafe was, in the end, only the owner, Chen Guo, would become rich. For ordinary employees, even if the benefits here were a bit better, it couldn't be said to be a job with any future prospects.

Internet cafe attendant, cashier… which young person would regard these occupations as their lifelong pursuit? These were just temporary jobs to earn a living. Ordinary people would think two years in such a job was too long, let alone a girl as outstanding as Tang Rou.

"Come, come, come, you two play a round," Chen Guo didn't let Ye Xiu continue to ponder, and went straight to the point after introducing them. She had been waiting all day, and had restrained herself from dragging Ye Xiu straight out of bed.

"Play what?" Ye Xiu asked.

"Glory! What else can we play?" Chen Guo said.

"Oh, you play Glory too?" Ye Xiu asked Tang Rou.

"No, I don't know how to play," Tang Rou smiled.

Chen Guo was unhappy when she heard this, "You don't know how to play? What am I then?"

"You really know how to play, I'm just so-so," Tang Rou said.

"What do you mean by 'so-so'?" Ye Xiu asked, puzzled.

"Don't listen to her being modest, she's very good at playing," Chen Guo said, dragging the two of them over to sit at two computers.

"Little Tang, you can use my Chasing Haze!" Chen Guo said, and then asked Ye Xiu, "What about you? You were level 20 last night, right? What class did you change to?"

"Not yet," Ye Xiu said.

"Why not?"

"I play unspecialized," Ye Xiu said.

"Unspecialized?" Chen Guo was very surprised. She hadn't experienced the era of the unspecialized class even though she had five years of gaming experience. She had only heard the veteran players mention it. In the words of those veterans: it was just a legend.

"How do you play unspecialized? How do you level up after level 50?" Chen Guo said.

"It used to be impossible, but now it's possible," Ye Xiu said.

"How do you level up?" Chen Guo asked.

"God Domain," Ye Xiu said.

"Are you kidding?" Chen Guo's eyes widened. "You want to complete the God Domain challenge at level 50?"

"Impressive, right?"

"Impressive, my foot!" Chen Guo said, "Level 50 challenge the God Domain..." Chen Guo wanted to analyze how difficult it was, but couldn't come up with a reason for a moment, because there were too many difficulties, and she didn't know where to start.

"If you want to see it, then don't fire me," Ye Xiu said with a smile.

"You're crazy," Chen Guo concluded.

Ye Xiu smiled, logged into his account, and said, "My account is only level 21. I have to go to the practice arena to fight with your level 70 account."

"You want to use that crappy account?" Chen Guo's eyes were wide.

"What else would I use?" Ye Xiu asked, puzzled.

"What class do you want to play? I'll borrow one for you!" This was the reason Chen Guo had asked Ye Xiu what class he had switched to earlier. Chen Guo knew countless regular customers at the internet cafe, so she was quite confident in borrowing an account for temporary use.

"Unspecialized..."

"Get out!"

Tang Rou watched the two of them with great interest, and found that, as everyone said, this person was very good at making Chen Guo angry!

"Let's just play casually, no need to be so serious!" Tang Rou said.

"Exactly," Ye Xiu echoed.

"How can a level 21 fight a level 70?" Chen Guo said.

"Practice arena!" Ye Xiu said.

Chen Guo was speechless. The practice arena was only for practice, and the outcome didn't count towards the character's rating. Because in the practice arena, the system would modify all of the character's attributes and equipment. After being modified, even a level 21 wouldn't be that much worse than a level 70 character. But even if the attributes were modified, the difference in skills couldn't be compensated. A level 21 character definitely wouldn't have the skills after level 20, and this wouldn't be modified. Even in the practice arena, a level 21 would still be at a disadvantage against a level 70.

"You forgot, I'm unspecialized. Level 20 or level 70 doesn't matter," Ye Xiu said.

Chen Guo realized. That's right, it didn't matter for an unspecialized character, because they wouldn't have any mid- to high-level skills above level 20 anyway.
