Chapter 1343: Chapter 1339: Plans for Xuanxuan
For the past couple of months, Yang Ruoxi has been wandering around the yard alone every day, feeling quite bored.
Whether there’s something to do or not, she would nag Chen Yang to play with her.
Most of the time, Chen Yang refused, saying he was busy with other things.
Now that Dai Annie has arrived, Yang Ruoxi no longer clings to him to play, and instead, she and Dai Annie are giggling and messing around with who knows what.
“By the way, Kexin, about the Wei widow’s situation, I think we should pay some attention to it,” Chen Yang suddenly said as he raised his head to speak to Wu Kexin halfway through their meal.
Wu Kexin heard this and looked over at Chen Yang, pausing for a second or two, and said, “But there’s nothing more I can do; the contract was clearly signed, and it’s impossible to get the land back.”
“I know we can’t get the land back; what I mean is to help her get the remaining one million back. That should still be possible,” Chen Yang said.
Having heard this, Wu Kexin fell silent.
It seemed like she was pondering on whether this could work.
After about a minute, she nodded and agreed.
“Alright, I’ll give it a try when the time comes. If we can really get it back, the village committee will keep it on Xuanxuan’s behalf until he grows up,” Wu Kexin said.
“Okay.”
Chen Yang nodded decisively; if that one million is recovered, there’s no way it’ll be given back to the Wei widow.
In the hearts of both Chen Yang and Wu Kexin, they genuinely don’t have a favorable impression of her.
“Wei widow? Kexin, why are you managing her affairs? Isn’t she all boastful?” Yang Ruoxi didn’t know about Wei widow’s current situation; she only remembered how arrogant Wei widow was when she first got the money.
So when she overheard the exchange between Chen Yang and Wu Kexin, she was a bit surprised.
She couldn’t understand why Chen Yang and Wu Kexin were dealing with Wei widow’s issues again.
“Here’s the thing…” Eating was just idle chat time, so seeing that Yang Ruoxi was curious, Chen Yang told her the whole story.
After hearing Wei widow’s plight, Yang Ruoxi’s expression was quite speechless.
“Wei widow has such thick skin, saying such harsh words back then and now coming to ask us for help, truly shameless,” Yang Ruoxi couldn’t help but criticize.
“Exactly, such an infuriating person.”
Dai Annie, who listened to the whole story, couldn’t resist joining in on the criticism.
“Whether she’s shameless or not is irrelevant to us; the main issue is Xuanxuan. He’s still young, and as part of Liuhe Village, we can’t plan for him, which is why I asked Kexin to negotiate with the Gu Family. Otherwise, I wouldn’t bother with such trivial matters,” Chen Yang said.
“Right, Xuanxuan is still young; our village should indeed plan something for him.”
Wu Kexin shared the same sentiment as Chen Yang.
As the village leader, one should protect the maximum interests of the villagers.
Even though Wei widow’s character is lacking, planning for Xuanxuan is still necessary.
After hearing this from Chen Yang and Wu Kexin, Yang Ruoxi and Dai Annie understood and nodded, stopping their criticism.
After the five of them finished eating together, none of them left immediately; instead, they lay down on the chairs at the village committee office to rest.
The midday sun was intense, making it unsuitable to go out for a walk.
“Ruoxi Auntie, Annie Auntie, are you home?”
Chen Yang had only just laid down, closing his eyes for a short time, when he heard the voices of village children coming from the gate.
Upon hearing the voices, Chen Yang opened his eyes to look.
He saw five or six village children under the lead of Wang Hong’s son Qiangzi, carrying iron buckets towards the village committee office, the voices clearly coming from them.
Given that Yang Ruoxi has been playing alone in the village during this period, she’s now familiar with these village kids, so seeing them coming to find Yang Ruoxi, Chen Yang wasn’t surprised at all.
“We’re here, we’re here.”
The voice of Qiangzi outside was heard by Yang Ruoxi inside, and she hurriedly ran out.
“Qiangzi, hold on a moment, Auntie’s just going to change her pants and will be right out,” Yang Ruoxi said to Qiangzi and the group as she reached the doorway, then returned inside to change her pants.
Simultaneously, she closed the door behind her.
Chen Yang, lying at the entrance, couldn’t help but chuckle wryly.
“Hey, Uncle Chen Yang, you’re here too.”
Qiangzi and his group entered the courtyard and saw Chen Yang.
Chen Yang smiled, “Yes, I’m cooling off here. What are you planning to do with Auntie Ruoxi? You’ve all geared up fully.”
Glancing at Qiangzi’s iron bucket and rolled-up pants, Chen Yang inquired.
Qiangzi chuckled, “I’ve arranged for Auntie Ruoxi to go catch mud eels and eels in the fields this afternoon.”
“Catching eels?”
Hearing this, Chen Yang was quite surprised.
“Yeah, Sister Ruoxi saw me catching eels last time when she passed by, thought it was interesting, and decided to join me for one round,” Qiangzi laughed.
“Really?” Chen Yang understood and then jokingly asked, “How’s your eel-catching skill? Is it impressive?”
Upon hearing this, Qiangzi’s expression became proud immediately.
“Uncle Chen Yang, my eel-catching skill is really impressive; I can catch loads,” Qiangzi said.
“Haha, is that so? Then catch some this afternoon and bring them to me. I haven’t tasted the flavor of eels in a long time,” Chen Yang said.
“Sure, no problem. Once we catch them, I’ll send some to you, Uncle Chen Yang,” Qiangzi generously agreed without hesitation.
Chen Yang smiled and patted his head, not saying much more.
About a minute or two later, the door opened.
Yang Ruoxi and Dai Annie emerged from the house, dressed lightly.
Because they were going into the fields, both were wearing short denim shorts, revealing their bright white legs prominently.
Chen Yang glanced, feeling a bit of an urge to touch.
“Chen Yang, do you have anything to do this afternoon? If not, come and catch eels and mud eels with us; it’s quite fun,” Yang Ruoxi invited Chen Yang as soon as she came out.
Dai Annie chimed in from the side.
“That’s right, it’s really fun. Chen Yang, come with us?”
Chen Yang shook his head, “I won’t go; I might have something to do this afternoon. If there’s nothing, I’ll come find you guys.”
“Alright then, Annie, let’s go with Qiangzi and the kids,” seeing that Chen Yang wasn’t going, Yang Ruoxi didn’t say much more, she and Dai Annie, hand in hand, left with Qiangzi and the group of kids.
Watching them leave, Chen Yang lost interest in lying down to rest.
He got up and wandered aimlessly for a while.
As he reached the vicinity of the wild rabbit farm, he saw two or three cars parked along the roadside outside the village from afar.
Those vehicles looked quite valuable, clearly not ones ordinary people could drive.
Seeing those cars, Chen Yang’s first thought was that they might belong to the Gu family, or perhaps someone from the Gu family had come.
With this in mind, he turned around and walked towards the farm.
After the previous renovation, the wild rabbit farm now had a lot more rabbits.
Almost every bush had four or five big rabbits, all looking quite plump.
“Once Liuhe Village opens, these rabbits will be the exclusive offerings at the snack street.”
Though the rabbit farm had been renovated and the number of rabbits bred significantly increased, this money was no longer significant to Chen Yang.
Thus, Chen Yang had already made plans.
When the scenic spot opens, the rabbits, along with the wild chickens and crayfish, won’t be supplied externally anymore.
They’ll be specially supplied to the dining places at the scenic spot.
This way, it won’t just earn more but will also add a unique feature to Liuhe Village.
