Chapter 1344: Chapter 1340: Attitude Toward Cooperation
Chen Yang contentedly wandered around the fish farm, found nothing wrong, and planned to go out to the fields to see how Yang Ruoxi and Qiangzi were doing with catching yellow eels.
But as soon as he stepped out of the farm, he saw five or six men who looked like bodyguards stepping out of the car he had seen earlier, striding towards him.
At first, Chen Yang thought the car might belong to the Gu Family, but seeing this situation, he immediately dismissed the thought.
That couldn’t possibly be the Gu Family’s car.
The Gu Family had dealt with him so many times, wouldn’t they know his tactics by now? How could they just send a few thug bodyguards here?
Seeing those men, Chen Yang didn’t rush to leave but stood his ground, silently watching them.
They walked straight towards him.
“Hey brother, can you tell us where Chen Yang’s house is in your village?” The leading bodyguard asked as he approached Chen Yang.
Chen Yang smirked slightly and asked, “Who are you guys? Why are you looking for him?”
“We are businessmen, here to discuss some business with him,” the bodyguard replied directly.
Hearing this, Chen Yang paused for a moment.
He looked them up and down once again.
These men swaggered like dragons and tigers, with burly arms, hardly fitting the image of businessmen.
They were clearly professional thugs.
“Brother, we mean no harm, just tell us where his house is,” the bodyguard pressed on when Chen Yang didn’t respond.
“I am Chen Yang,” Chen Yang stated directly, not bothering to beat around the bush any longer.
The bodyguards were momentarily surprised upon hearing this and then smiled knowingly.
“So you’re Chen Yang. Our boss in the car would like to invite you over,” the bodyguard gestured towards the car in an inviting manner.
He seemed courteous, but his tone carried a definite hint of threat.
Having dealt with so many bodyguards and the like, how could Chen Yang not sense it?
“I don’t know your boss, nor am I interested in any business deals,” Chen Yang responded indifferently.
Chen Yang’s response was evidently unexpected to the bodyguards; they were taken aback and after a few seconds, their brows furrowed.
“Chen Yang, our boss is not a person of ordinary stature. Coming all this way is already giving you a lot of respect. Don’t be unwise,” the bodyguard said bluntly.
Seeing his attitude, Chen Yang naturally didn’t have a friendly face for him either.
“Whether he shows respect is his business, it has nothing to do with me,” Chen Yang replied, also frowning.
“So you really want to be unwise, then?” the bodyguard’s expression turned cold, and the threat in his words was unmistakable.
Chen Yang was unfazed.
“Think as you wish, I have no interest in discussing any business.”
“Since we can’t get you the nice way, we’ll take you the hard way,” the bodyguard decisively said and immediately made a move.
They intended to forcibly take Chen Yang over.
But they couldn’t have imagined that fighting was Chen Yang’s forte.
Though they were strong and professional bodyguards.
Nonetheless, against Chen Yang, even the most skilled bodyguard was useless.
With a slight raise of his arm, Chen Yang easily blocked an attack.
Before his opponent could react, he backhanded with a slap.
Slap…
A crisp slap directly swelled the bodyguard’s face.
The other bodyguards saw this, and each swung their fists.
Chen Yang settled them effortlessly.
But he didn’t use much force, merely giving them a minor lesson.
“If you want to negotiate a deal, do it like a negotiator, don’t act so overbearing, got it?”
Glancing at the luxury cars not far away, Chen Yang left them with these words, clapped the dust off his hands, and walked away without paying further attention to the luxury cars.
Leaving the fish farm, Chen Yang didn’t return to the clinic but walked through the village and went to the fields.
Nowadays, almost all the villagers in Liuhe Village have jobs elsewhere, so nobody was working the fields.
With a casual glance, Chen Yang could spot where Yang Ruoxi and Qiangzi were.
Upon locating them, Chen Yang followed the field tracks to get closer.
Nearing them, he saw Qiangzi struggling with a large yellow eel.
They had dug up a lot of mud but still hadn’t caught it.
Qiangzi’s forehead was covered in sweat, but his hands were like mechanical hoes, tirelessly digging in the wet soil.
“Aunt Ruoxi, this one’s big, have the metal bucket ready.”
Qiangzi said while digging.
Everyone knew this yellow eel was sizable, hence they had gathered around, anxiously watching the muddy pit.
Chen Yang reached the field track above them unnoticed.
“Okay, I’m ready.”
Yang Ruoxi, holding the metal bucket, looked nervous, obviously eager to catch this eel.
However, while Qiangzi had the skills, he was too young, and after some time, his strength began to wane, about to stop.
Seeing this, Chen Yang took off his shoes, rolled up his pants, and went down.
“Let me do it.”
Chen Yang offered.
“Uncle Chen Yang!” Qiangzi was the first to look up and was delighted to see Chen Yang suddenly appear.
Without a word, he quickly made way for Chen Yang to dig.
Yellow eels are fast movers.
Especially these older, more seasoned yellow eels, they’re even faster.
They burrow through the moist soil quickly.
So once Qiangzi made way, Chen Yang continued to dig without pause.
“Chen Yang.”
At this moment, Yang Ruoxi and Dai Annie reacted and were equally delighted to see Chen Yang.
“Chen Yang, do you know how to dig out yellow eels? This one’s huge, make sure it doesn’t escape,” Yang Ruoxi said with some concern.
Dai Annie nodded repeatedly beside her, “Exactly, Chen Yang, don’t let it get away. Qiangzi’s been at it for a long time.”
Hearing this, Chen Yang smiled but didn’t respond, his hands continuously digging.
On the side, Qiangzi laughed and spoke for him, “Aunt Ruoxi, Aunt Annie, Uncle Chen Yang is really skilled, don’t worry. This eel is too big, I couldn’t keep up, but now that Uncle Chen Yang’s here, he’ll definitely catch it.”
Qiangzi had great confidence in Chen Yang.
Because Chen Yang’s skill at catching loaches in the village was well known.
Although Qiangzi was young and not of the same generation, he had heard about Chen Yang’s loach-catching prowess.
“Really? We didn’t know Chen Yang could catch loaches,” Yang Ruoxi said, relieved after hearing Qiangzi’s words, attentively watching Chen Yang dig.
Under their gaze, Chen Yang dug for about a minute.
Water began to gush out from the hole.
This was a sign that the yellow eel was close, just a bit more effort, and it would be dug out.
“Uncle Chen Yang, it’s almost out, just a bit more effort,” Qiangzi said, nervously watching from the side.
He had put a lot of energy into digging this yellow eel out, and it would be disappointing if it escaped.
