Chapter 430: Who Could It Be?

Chapter 430: Chapter 430: Who Could It Be?

When she said this, Yara Reagan quietly glanced at Evelyn Clayton.

Evelyn Clayton pretended not to notice, keeping her expression steady without responding.

"Ah, let’s not worry about the Grant Family’s affairs. We’re about to start producing the autumn and winter collection. The first batch has already been sent to the factory for samples. We’ll go over there ourselves to supervise once we’re rested."

Evelyn Clayton took a deep breath, dispelling her scattered thoughts, and nodded, "We’ll go tomorrow. Let’s call Old Wang and Julia Lawrence."

Originally intending to persuade Evelyn Clayton to rest longer, but seeing her determined expression, Yara Reagan relented, "Alright!"

When they got home, Yara Reagan decided to stay over. Evelyn Clayton returned to her room but didn’t go to sleep immediately.

She hadn’t slept well for several nights, but right now she wasn’t tired at all.

The police had sent over John Jacobs’ statement that afternoon as Evelyn Clayton was checking out.

Regarding the kidnapping, John Jacobs continued to insist that he acted out of a sudden impulse to harm Evelyn Clayton.

Of course, Evelyn Clayton did not believe this.

John Jacobs had already mentioned to the driver that someone wanted her dead.

As for who it was...

Evelyn Clayton’s eyes grew dark with thought.

She had a few suspects in mind, but she couldn’t just rely on imagination to make arbitrary conclusions.

Moreover, there was another point.

Evelyn Clayton felt that neither Harrison Grant nor Yolanda Thorne were people who would do something like this.

Although both of them probably resented her, but...

Evelyn tightly pressed her lips together, turned off her phone, and lay on her bed, staring at the ceiling in the dark.

Who could it be?

A million isn’t a small amount, to hate her enough to wish her dead...

Finally being home, Evelyn’s mind filled with lawsuits slowly relaxed in her familiar surroundings, and she managed to get a good night’s sleep.

The next day when she woke up, Evelyn dressed as usual in long sleeves and a jacket to cover the marks on her wrist, then went to the company with Yara Reagan.

At Gem, most of the staff had not yet arrived at this hour, but Rhys Jacobs and Julia Lawrence were both there earlier than Evelyn. They were busy at their respective desks.

As Evelyn walked in, Julia Lawrence was engrossed in her drawing. Hearing the sound, she looked up with a shy smile on her still-pale face, "You’re back."

Rhys Jacobs also looked up, showing mild surprise, "Director Clayton."

"Yeah, you two got here earlier than us," Evelyn remarked playfully while glancing over Julia’s drawings.

Julia Lawrence chuckled, "I haven’t been at work much, so I thought I’d make up for lost time and catch up on the work."

Julia was working on alternative designs for winter clothing; the images were clean and the lines were sharp.

Evelyn just needed one look to notice something was off.

Previously, Julia’s designs weren’t this good, and due to her experiences and personality, they always lacked a certain flair and weren’t particularly graceful.

Gem focused on women’s fashion, where both elements were highly important.

But this time, the progress in Julia’s drawings was significant compared to before.

As Evelyn studied them for a while, she glanced at the slightly nervous Julia, and a thought suddenly crossed her mind.

Could it be that Julia was in love?

The thought, once emerged, couldn’t be repressed, and considering Julia’s frequent absences from work, Evelyn thought it was highly possible.

"The drawings are very good, much improved from before." Evelyn smiled at her, "You seem to be in a good mood lately?"

Julia was startled and then blushed.

At that moment, Evelyn was certain: Julia was in love.

Knowing that Julia was shy, Evelyn didn’t tease her, and just mentioned it briefly to Yara Reagan after returning to her office.
