Chapter 506: 506. Fairy that fell from heaven
"Move, bastards... I am gonna have a delightful conversation with her. No matter what sound you hear, no matter how many screams you hear, you bastards are not allowed to come in..." Yaso warned with a sinister grin curling across his lips.
His voice was heavy, carrying both authority and madness. The lackeys froze for a moment, then quickly bowed their heads. None dared to question his words. They already knew what kind of twisted pleasures their boss sought, and none wanted to be the one to provoke his rage.
The men dragged the unconscious Luman toward the far side of the base, tossing him carelessly like a sack of potatoes. His body hit the wooden floor with a dull thud, and he remained motionless.
Yaso turned back, shutting the creaky door with deliberate slowness. The heavy lock clanked shut, sealing the room. The dimly lit chamber smelled of damp wood and rot, a suffocating space that felt more like a dungeon than a room.
Inside, Yumina stirred. Groggy, her head throbbed as if struck by a hammer. Slowly, her eyelids fluttered open. Her vision blurred, she saw the outline of a man closing the door. When her eyes adjusted, she found him approaching, each step echoing in the quiet room. His vulgar expression made her stomach twist in disgust.
She tried to move but couldn’t. Her body felt weak, her limbs heavy, as if chains held her down. Despite that, her gaze sharpened, glaring at him with all the hatred she could muster.
"Hahaha... You’re awake. That’s good," Yaso’s grin widened into something monstrous, drool at the corner of his lips. "Now I can enjoy you... and your screams." His eyes burned with a lunatic fire, a predator closing in on helpless prey.
"Someone... save... me..." Yumina’s voice came out faint, trembling, like the last cry of a dying bird.
"Save?" Yaso mocked, tilting his head in amusement. "What do you expect? Like those old tales, an angel from heaven will drop down to rescue you?" He chuckled darkly.
Glitch. Glitch.
Static crackled in the air, faint but unnatural.
"Hah?" Yaso frowned and looked upward. For a moment, the room flickered with strange distortions, as though reality itself had a hiccup. But when he scanned the ceiling, nothing was there.
The static grew again, louder this time. A faint hum echoed through the room, unnatural and ominous. Yaso’s brows knitted in confusion, but his lust overpowered his suspicion.
"Tch, illusions or not, I’m not waiting any longer." He lunged at Yumina, his shadow stretching over her trembling body.
Yumina shut her eyes tightly, despair sinking into her chest. In her heart, a single name escaped her lips, "Ling Tian..."
BOOM.
A thunderous crash erupted.
"Aaahhhhhh!"
A pig-like scream ripped from Yaso’s throat, echoing grotesquely.
Yumina’s eyes flew open in shock. Before her, something impossible unfolded—an angelic figure truly had descended.
A tall, breathtakingly beautiful girl stood above Yaso. Her long white hair cascaded down like rivers of moonlight, framing a face so perfect it seemed carved by the heavens themselves. Her body was lean yet graceful, curves accentuated by her poise, and her chest—large and impossible to ignore—rose and fell as she caught her breath. A shimmering portal flickered and sealed shut above her head.
Though she didn’t appear muscular, her sudden descent had been powerful enough to crush Yaso beneath her like an insect. His body twitched pathetically under her weight.
The scream reached the lackeys stationed outside. One flinched.
"Is that... boss?"
"Yeah..." another shrugged, smirking. "Probably got stuck in some wrong hole. Didn’t he say no matter what we hear, don’t disturb him? Heh, just as bro said—don’t ruin boss’ bliss."
And so, none moved.
Inside, the angelic girl groaned slightly, holding her head. "Ouch, ouch..." she muttered, dazed by her sudden arrival.
Beneath her, Yaso wheezed weakly. "Help... me..." His voice was faint, like a dying pig.
But she didn’t notice him. Instead, her gaze shifted forward. There, on the cold floor, a small figure stirred. Yumina, her orange hair messy but her eyes burning with hope, stared at her savior with trembling lips.
The beautiful girl’s heart jolted for reasons she couldn’t explain. Just meeting the cute girl’s gaze made her heartbeat quicken, like drums pounding inside her chest.
Pity swelled inside her. Without hesitation, she knelt down gracefully, her long hair swaying, and in a single smooth motion, scooped Yumina into her arms.
"Wow..." Yumina gasped, astonished to find herself carried like a princess. The sudden warmth of the embrace caught her off guard.
The angelic girl rose, her eyes narrowing at the ugly man groaning on the ground. A strange impulse overtook her. Without hesitation, she stepped forward, raised her leg, and stomped down hard.
"AAAHHHHH!" Yaso’s scream rang out again, shrill and pig-like, before he went limp, unconscious.
The girl looked down at him with faint disgust, though she didn’t know why she felt compelled to crush him again.
Outside, the lackeys exchanged glances. "Seems like boss is... really enjoying himself this time."
"Yeah, sounds intense."
Meanwhile, the girl calmly carried Yumina forward. Yumina, regaining her breath, whispered, "Take that gauntlet... that’s my weapon."
The girl’s ears perked. "Alright." Her sweet voice was soft, melodic. She reached for the gauntlet resting in the corner of the room. Only one remained.
Yumina blinked. Her heart skipped. Her voice is... so sweet...
"It seems they took away my other gauntlet," Yumina muttered bitterly. "And... they captured Luman."
"I don’t understand," the girl admitted, "but let’s go somewhere safe first."
They reached the entrance. Two guards stood, spears in hand, blocking the path.
The angelic girl gently lowered Yumina to the floor. Yumina slipped her hand into the gauntlet, fastening it slowly. "I’ll shoot one guy. Can you occupy the oth—"
Thud.
Both guards collapsed simultaneously, their heads smacked together like coconuts. The angelic beauty dusted her hands casually.
"You were saying?" she asked, her voice light, almost playful.
Yumina blinked wide-eyed. "...Nothing. Let’s go."
Together, the two girls slipped out into the cold evening air, leaving behind Yaso’s broken body and his clueless lackeys.
"Thank you for saving me. I am Yumina, a bounty hunter. What is your name?" Yumina asked softly once they found somewhere safer.
"It’s Ty–...."
