Chapter 4 This Pick-Up Line Is So Clichéd

As Gu Qichen walked towards the booth with a cold expression, the man followed and asked, "Brother Chen, aren't you going to find your wife?"

"She is not your wife."

And moreover...

His icy gaze fell upon Qin He, whose smile was radiant.

He wanted to see what had gotten into her today, what mischief she was up to.

Thus, the two took their seats in the booth.

Gu Qichen continued to watch Qin He, who was so unrestrained and free-spirited, feeling that the woman on stage was a stranger.

For two years, Qin He had always been meek and compliant in front of him, with long black hair, rarely wearing makeup.

Beautiful, but bland and uninteresting.

Yet now, she was wearing flamboyant makeup, a bold shade of lipstick, pounding on the drums, her expression more vibrant than he had ever seen.

Gu Qichen abruptly threw his head back and downed a cup of wine.

Meanwhile, after finishing her drum solo, Qin He was met with a round of applause. She smiled, then stretched languidly, revealing a sliver of her fair and slender waist.

She glanced around. Xu Wanwan was dancing intimately with a man, likely too preoccupied to attend to her.

Qin He got up and stepped off the stage.

"Hey, beautiful." Someone nearby called out softly.

Qin He wasn't sure if she was being addressed, but she turned her gaze to look over.

A tall, slender man was leaning against the bar, his handsome features softened by the dim light. A faint curve played on his thin lips, and his narrow eyes glinted with a wild spark.

The teasing in his gaze made Qin He uncomfortable. She instinctively frowned, "Sir, what is it you want?"

Lu Mingxi appraised her for a moment. "You look familiar."

Qin He was a little exasperated. "Sir, that's a rather cliché way to pick someone up."

Lu Mingxi didn't reply, furrowing his handsome brows. Suddenly, he clapped his hands together. "I remember who you are!"

"You're A Yun's daughter, aren't you?"

Qin He was slightly surprised. "You know my brother?"

Lu Mingxi burst into laughter. He stepped forward, familiarly slinging an arm around Qin He's shoulders and leading her towards a private room. "I'm Lu Mingxi, your brother's drinking buddy. Don't you recognize me?"

Qin He was still not accustomed to being touched by others.

She frowned awkwardly and batted his hand away. "Even if you're my brother's friend, don't get handsy."

Lu Mingxi exclaimed, "Oh, such a prickly little wildcat."

"Come, come, have a drink with me."

Qin He intended to refuse, but before she could react, Lu Mingxi had already led her into the private room.

What was going on?

He brought her into a private room just like that?

She was still wary, her hand subtly reaching for her bag.

The next second, she saw Lu Mingxi beckon two beautiful women, one on each side, embracing them.

"..." Qin He watched him with cold eyes, then after a pause, suddenly asked, "Is my brother like this too?"

Hearing her finally speak, Lu Mingxi motioned for the two women to step aside. He rested his elbows on his knees and raised his eyebrows at her. "Little cat, want to know?"

He patted the seat beside him, a suggestive glint in his eyes. "Come here."

Qin He's expression immediately turned cold. She stood up, looking down at him.

Her expression was indifferent. "If you're going to act like this, I'll be leaving."

Lu Mingxi chuckled and spread his hands. "Alright, alright, my apologies. I won't act like this anymore, okay?"

A wild glint flashed in his eyes.

This daughter of A Yun was quite interesting.

"Your brother, whether he has someone in his heart or for some other reason, anyway..."

Before Lu Mingxi could finish his sentence, the private room door was suddenly kicked open with a bang.

Qin He was startled, almost cursing out loud.

Lu Mingxi also frowned, his face displeased as he snapped, "Who the hell is it?!"

Standing at the doorway was a tall, handsome man whose face was so grim it looked like it could drip water.

Qin He: "??"

What was going on? Was this uninvited guest looking for her?

"You've gotten quite bold. Not a word for so many days." Gu Qichen strode in, stopping in front of Qin He. His thin lips were tightly pressed, and his voice was laced with hostility.

Qin He: "??"

Was he talking to her?

Did she know him?

Gu Qichen's cold gaze swept past Lu Mingxi, a flicker of mockery in his eyes. "Didn't expect you'd come here to play wild."

Qin He instantly bristled.

Who was this guy?

He burst in with two aggressive remarks, and he was being sarcastic. The problem was, she didn't even know him!
