With a loud bang, the target's head exploded in a spray of blood, and he collapsed to the ground.
As he died, those around him fell into a panic. The entire building descended into chaos, with people pouring out of escape routes and the main entrance.
After all, no one could guarantee that the next bullet wouldn't be aimed at their head. It was only natural for people to be selfish and afraid of death.
Taking advantage of the confusion, Lu Ze quickly went downstairs, cleaned up the entire scene, and then sped off on his motorcycle towards the amusement park.
The roar of his motorcycle echoed through the highway, and before long, he was back behind the restroom. With his agile movements, he once again climbed in through the window.
Fortunately, the restroom had been locked before he left, so at least he wouldn't have the awkward situation of startling someone by climbing through the window.
He composed himself, emerged from the restroom, calmly washed his hands at the sink, and returned to his original spot.
Kiana and the others were still enjoying the various rides. Lu Ze simply smiled, intending to contact his client by phone and inform him of the mission's completion.
Soon after, a large sum of money was deposited into his bank account. This money had been specially laundered, otherwise, it wouldn't be usable.
Looking at the payment confirmation on his phone, Lu Ze sighed inwardly, thinking how good it felt to have money, at least he didn't have to worry about it.
About 20 minutes later, Kiana walked over, looking exhausted. Her earlier excitement had completely vanished.
"Kiana, are you really that bad? It's just a pendulum ride, do you have to be that scared? This isn't the Kiana I know."
Bronya said teasingly from behind, though one could unconsciously ignore her somewhat shaky legs.
"Don't you talk about me, Bronya! Who was it that was jumping all over the place in the haunted house just now? I'm not saying, but the screams almost shattered my eardrums."
A '#' symbol appeared on Bronya's forehead. Where was the promise of respecting elders and caring for the young? How could she have no morals?
The two almost started arguing over this trivial matter. If not for Raiden Mei's intervention, they might have come to blows.
Himeko, on the other hand, just stood by, smiling with an expression of someone watching a show.
"I mean, do you guys really have to be like this?"
But no one paid any attention to Lu Ze standing by the side. No one would, as they were all engrossed in their heated argument.
It took considerable effort to separate the two, and after some discussions, the storm of this incident finally subsided.
It was almost noon, so Lu Ze decided to eat at a nearby restaurant. There was no need to go back, as it would be too much trouble.
In the afternoon, they visited a nearby park for a stroll. It was a day of relaxation. When they returned to the academy, Kiana was carrying a small plastic container with a turtle inside.
"Kiana, is it really necessary to buy a turtle? Never mind, I won't lecture you. Since you bought it, you have to be responsible for it. You can't just give up halfway."
Kiana looked at the turtle in her hand and nodded with a dazed expression. For some reason, the moment she saw this turtle, she felt an urge to buy it. Perhaps it was fate.
The video ended here. This episode had a lot of content, but most of it was easy to understand.
Those sitting in front of the television exchanged glances. One person slowly said:
"Did the Principal really do something so excessive? Forcing Lu Ze to do so much... *hiss*, Kiana? Why didn't you say anything back then? I thought the Principal just had some busy work for Lu Ze, I didn't expect it to turn out like this."
Raiden Mei stared at Kiana, her gaze questioning, seeking an answer.
"I... I forgot. But isn't that the point? I didn't expect Lu Ze to be acting at the amusement park. He even punched himself to complete the mission. Why didn't he say anything sooner? If he had, I wouldn't have insisted on going to the amusement park. Isn't that tormenting himself?"
Kiana felt a pang of heartache seeing Lu Ze punch his own stomach. If only he had said something earlier, she wouldn't have been so insistent.
"Who knows? It's probably because a certain someone didn't want to disappoint you. Forget it, it's all in the past. Let it go. Instead, I'm more curious about what happened back then. Why did he abandon us and join Schicksal?"
Speaking of which, Kiana was also curious. Why did Lu Ze stand on their side's opposite and choose to join Schicksal? Although they knew the answer later, she wanted to see the process.
"Indeed. But aren't you curious too? Why is Lu Ze so good to Kiana? Could it be..."
One person egged them on, and a crowd followed suit. All eyes turned to Kiana, who became a bit flustered, but mostly shy.
Upstairs, Lu Ze heard the commotion below subside and assumed everything was over. He cautiously opened the door, peeking out with one eye.
The corridor was quiet, with no one around. Lu Ze let out a slow sigh. It seemed like they hadn't discussed anything. If they had, people would have rushed up by now, given how long ago it was.
He carefully pushed the door open and tiptoed towards the stairs. Through a small gap, he saw the crowd below staring intently at Kiana.
"What's going on? Why is everyone looking at Kiana? Could it be they're showing some of my embarrassing history?"
He had turned off the screen in the room earlier, unwilling to face his own past mistakes. It was only natural, after all, who could calmly face their own embarrassing history?
So he had no idea what that episode was about. Although he was a bit confused, it was good that nothing had happened.
"I don't know either. Everyone, please don't look at me like that. It's making me a little scared."
Kiana was a bit flustered, feeling as if the group might attack her at any moment.
"That's right, it's not your fault. Alright, alright, everyone, disperse. The video is over, and it's time to prepare dinner."
Wendy bit her finger, contemplating the content of the next episode. Would it be about her story? Probably not.
Although, given the pace, it seemed likely. Well, whatever happens, happens.
She calmed herself down and headed to the kitchen to prepare dinner. Raiden Mei and Velvie also made themselves at home in the kitchen. With over a dozen mouths to feed, the three of them were a bit overwhelmed.
