Chapter 734 The Right Candidate

"Why are you crying for me?" the old man was bewildered.

Mu Anxiao said, "I have always acted with the thought of respecting the old and cherishing the young, but today I have hurt your heart. I feel truly bad about it."

"If you feel bad, then come in with me," the old man said.

"No, I won't survive if I go in, ah ah, after being a steward for so many years, I'm finally leaving, ah ah." Mu Anxiao cried inexplicably.

The old man looked at Mu Anxiao's expression of crying with her mouth wide open, utterly helpless, "What are you doing?"

Upon hearing this, Mu Anxiao stopped her dry sobbing and said, "You are quite old, crying is bad for your health. So, I'll cry for you. Then, you can tell me what you want to say calmly, and I'll shout it for you. This is also a way to vent, don't you think?"

The old man was completely stunned.

Feng Qishi gave a thumbs up, "Silly Mu, you're something else."

Piao swallowed his throat, not knowing what to say.

Yan smiled.

Queen Rabbit watched the old man being rendered speechless by Mu Anxiao, and let out a soft laugh.

Mu Anxiao stared at the old man's cracked lips, "You should go back and drink water."

"Miss," as the old man's lips parted, the dry skin on them tore open, and a little blood seeped out, "If you don't come in with me, I will really be driven away."

"Your mouth is bleeding," Mu Anxiao pointed at the old man's lips.

The old man pointed at Mu Anxiao's mouth, "Your mouth is bleeding."

"Mine is fine, but your mouth..."

Mu Anxiao's words were cut off as the old man pursed his lips inward, swallowed, and said, "I haven't drunk enough water lately, so my lips are dry and cracked."

"Then you should go back and drink water," Mu Anxiao said with a dry laugh, picking up a handkerchief and dabbing her mouth.

"You..."

"Stop," Mu Anxiao interrupted, holding up her hand in front of the old man, "You shouldn't always call me 'you'. It sounds awkward. After all, you are elderly, and this would be showing disrespect to me."

"It's fine if you don't address me that way, but you have to come in with me," the old man said.

"Why are you so insistent?" Mu Anxiao was completely exasperated.

"To be honest, our master has been looking for a maid for my young lady. My young lady is incredibly disobedient. She never speaks kindly to maids and has a habit of hitting them. The master has had to dismiss those maids. But just now, after the servant delivered the message, the master felt that you would be a suitable candidate," the old man explained.

Upon hearing this, Mu Anxiao lowered her eyelids.

Feng Qishi glanced at the old man, "Refuse him. You cannot have any contact with these people."

"I know," Mu Anxiao said softly.

Piao said, "Go ahead."

Feng Qishi's eyes widened in shock. He turned to Piao, "Are you crazy?"

"I am a demon. Once things are done, I can erase everyone's memory of Mu Anxiao here," Piao said calmly.

Feng Qishi frowned, "Your plan sounds too simple."

"Why complicate things?" Piao said.

Feng Qishi, "Then wouldn't her efforts be a waste of time?"

Piao stepped forward and patted Feng Qishi's shoulder, "How can it be a waste of time? I think this is the only way to let..." He shifted his gaze to Queen Rabbit's face, "Her, understand that child more deeply, don't you think?"

Queen Rabbit looked at Piao in surprise.

Mu Anxiao, hearing Piao's words, asked softly, "Can I agree?"

Feng Qishi hesitated for a moment, then withdrew his gaze fixed on Piao's face and looked at Mu Anxiao, "You agree."

Piao smiled.

Then, Mu Anxiao raised her face and looked at the old man who was awaiting her reply, "Alright, I'll go in with you."

"Thank you," the old man smiled.

Mu Anxiao shook her head, "Don't thank me. I just didn't expect your servants here to hear so clearly." Saying this, she tilted her head.

Piao sighed, "They must have seen you talking to yourself." As he spoke, he rushed to the door.

Seeing this, Feng Qishi stepped forward, passing the old man, and followed Piao.

Behind the door, two servants looked at each other. One of them said, "Why didn't you tell her she was talking to herself?"

"This is her leverage. That woman looks quite easy to bully, so from now on, she can serve us tea and water," the second servant said with a wicked grin.

"Yes, then we can say we are her saviors. What do you think?"

"Okay, but..." The first servant glanced outside the door, with some concern, "She refused the steward like this, and was still persuaded by the steward in the end. If we say we are her saviors, won't it seem a bit far-fetched?"

"What's far-fetched about it? They are women, we can bully them all," the second servant said.

"Right," the first servant chuckled twice.

Piao, listening to their imaginative conversation, let out a soft hum, "As long as they haven't gone out, the trouble is avoided." Saying this, he crossed the threshold and stopped between them, "Alright, forget it, humans." He then clapped them hard on the head, and their eyes immediately closed.

Feng Qishi stopped behind Piao, looked at the two people on either side, and asked, "Can you use magic?"

"This is my skill," Piao said, a smirk on his lips.

Feng Qishi crossed his arms, "I was just worried you might be joking, but now I'm not."

"Why aren't you praising me?" Piao turned his head and asked Feng Qishi.

Feng Qishi replied, "Why should I praise you?" After speaking, he smiled at Piao.

Piao let out a soft hum and looked at the two servants who had opened their eyes, "If I had the chance, I would kill them."

"If you killed them, Silly Mu would ignore you in minutes, believe it or not?" Feng Qishi asked with a smile.

Piao was speechless.

Feng Qishi smiled and turned to look at Mu Anxiao, who was following the old man up the steps.

Piao said, "I've resolved it for you." After speaking, he and Feng Qishi moved aside.

Mu Anxiao secretly smiled at them, then followed the old man into the mansion.

Yan and Queen Rabbit followed behind Mu Anxiao.

Piao and Feng Qishi exchanged glances. Feng Qishi asked, "You, besides those two, no one else saw Silly Mu talking to herself, right?"

"I observed just now, and besides those two, there was no one else," Piao said.

"That's good," Feng Qishi nodded slightly, then looked at the empty street outside the mansion, "Strange, why is no one here?"

"The absence of people is enough to prove how powerful the master of this mansion is," Piao said seriously.
