Chapter 442 Deliberate Concealment

"Is that so?" Jiang Ziyu mumbled, "Strange, normally you follow him constantly, but today you're left behind at the company yourself."

Shen Lin avoided her gaze, racking his brain for an excuse. "Director Di assigned me other tasks."

Jiang Ziyu studied him but said nothing.

Under her intense scrutiny, Shen Lin broke out in a cold sweat.

He wished he had just avoided her and not proactively come to greet her.

"Since Mingjue isn't here, take this food with you." Jiang Ziyu placed the insulated container on the table. "Oh, and don't tell Mingjue I came."

With that, Jiang Ziyu moved past Shen Lin.

As she walked out of the office, she closed the door behind her. Leaving a slight gap, Jiang Ziyu paused, her voice gradually fading.

Inside, Shen Lin let out a sigh of relief. Clutching his chest, he quickly took out his phone from his pocket. After the ring, Shen Lin urgently said into the receiver, "Director Di, Madam just came to the company."

Jiang Ziyu let out a cold laugh. By deliberately telling him not to inform Di Mingjue of her visit, it seemed they truly were hiding something from her.

Heard over the phone, Shen Lin continued, "I feel Madam is somewhat suspicious. Do you want to tell her directly, Director Di? I'm afraid there might be a misunderstanding between you."

Hearing this, Jiang Ziyu stopped listening. She had learned what she wanted to know.

Leaving the company, Jiang Ziyu didn't rush back. She casually chose a coffee shop downstairs from Di Jue Group and sat by the window.

Her gaze was fixed on the entrance and exit of Di Jue Group.

She watched Shen Lin hurry out of the company and finally get into a taxi.

Although she didn't know what Di Mingjue was hiding, Jiang Ziyu had no intention of following him. After finishing her coffee, she went shopping.

...

Four in the afternoon.

Jiang Ziyu returned to Di Residence with bags and bags of shopping. Seeing Di Mingjue anxiously waiting on the sofa, she was not surprised at all.

"Why didn't you answer your phone?" Di Mingjue stood up and walked towards her, taking the shopping bags from her hands. "Did you go shopping?"

"Yes, I just bought a few things." Jiang Ziyu walked to the sofa and sat down. She took out her phone from her bag and pressed the buttons. The screen displayed it powering on.

Di Mingjue happened to see this and asked himself, "Why was the phone turned off properly?"

Jiang Ziyu looked down at her phone, ignoring him.

Remembering Shen Lin's reminder, Di Mingjue hesitated before tentatively asking, "Shen Lin mentioned you went to the company today? Why didn't you call me?"

"I was going to the mall and thought I'd bring you lunch since you've been busy lately." Jiang Ziyu put down her phone and turned to stare at Di Mingjue. "What have you been so busy with lately? Not even bringing Shen Lin along?"

His attempt to probe had backfired, and now he was being questioned.

Di Mingjue swallowed hard and turned to stand up from the sofa. "Some project matters."

"By the way, shouldn't the children be out of school soon?" he quickly changed the subject.

Sensing his deliberate evasion, Jiang Ziyu didn't press further.

"I've already arranged for someone to pick them up."

"Is that so? I was thinking of picking them up myself. I've been too busy lately to spend quality time with you and the children. How about the five of us go out for dinner tonight?"

Jiang Ziyu picked up her shopping bags and walked up to Di Mingjue. "No, I'm a bit tired today."

With that, she brushed past him.

Watching her retreating back, Di Mingjue vaguely sensed Jiang Ziyu's anger. Was she really tired, or did she not want to go out with him?

Slapping his thigh, Di Mingjue didn't know what to do. If he confessed now, all his recent concealment would be for nothing.

After a period of internal struggle, he still chose silence. He decided to apologize properly when the right time came.
