About ten minutes passed. Dr. Lin came out of the room, pushing Di Mingjue, with a troubled expression on his face. Neither of them looked happy, especially Di Mingjue, whose face was as dark as Bao Gong's, making anyone who saw him want to stay away.
Jiang Ziyu still had a smug smile on her face. However, upon seeing Di Mingjue's expression, she seemed a bit flustered.
"What are you all looking at? Turns out you were all looking at you," Di Jiancheng said, propping his leg up and jumping up from the sofa.
Casually walking up to Di Mingjue, Di Jiancheng glanced at Dr. Lin and asked, "Are you sick?"
His tone carried a hint of disdain, as if questioning why there was such a commotion with so many people gathered around for this.
Displeased, Di Mingjue brushed away the hand on his shoulder, coldly distancing himself from Di Jiancheng.
"How is it?" the old lady anxiously asked Dr. Lin.
The doctor shook his head instinctively and looked at the old lady with difficulty.
Her body, which had just stood up, suddenly swayed. The old lady felt dizzy and stumbled towards the sofa behind her. The butler quickly stepped forward to support her, preventing her back of the head from hitting the sofa.
"That's not right," Jiang Ziyu stepped forward, looking at Di Mingjue as the previous scene flashed before her eyes. "Did you make a mistake?"
He had stood up multiple times before, so how could he be unable to?
"Mrs. Di, this is not an incurable disease. If CEO Di receives proper treatment in the future, there is still a possibility of full recovery," Dr. Lin quickly reassured her.
Jiang Ziyu shook her head, muttering continuously, "No, no, you must have made a mistake!"
She had just made a casual joke, and now she was being told it had come true. How could she accept this!
Di Mingjue appeared to have given up, pushing everyone aside and heading upstairs alone.
Watching his extremely sorrowful retreating figure, Jiang Ziyu unconsciously touched her lips. Could her mouth be enchanted, making whatever she said come true?
No!
Jiang Ziyu suddenly remembered what had happened in the bathroom earlier, and his rebuttal when she said he couldn't. Could it be… Her discerning gaze fell upon Dr. Lin.
"Grandma, I'll see Dr. Lin out," Jiang Ziyu said, voluntarily picking up the medical bag Dr. Lin was carrying.
Dr. Lin, eager to leave as soon as possible, hurried to retrieve his medical bag from Jiang Ziyu as they walked out the door of the Di residence.
"Dr. Lin," Jiang Ziyu held onto the handle of the medical bag, refusing to let go. Her eyes, with a playful smile, were fixed on him.
His heart skipped a beat, and he kept swallowing. Dr. Lin loosened his grip on the handle of the medical bag and took a large step back.
"Don't be nervous, I just want to ask," Jiang Ziyu soothed him. "Is what happened just now real, or did he deliberately tell you to say that?"
As soon as she said this, Dr. Lin was stunned. How could she have guessed so accurately?
"Mrs. Di, you should ask CEO Di yourself," Dr. Lin suggested.
Just as she suspected!
Jiang Ziyu returned the medical bag to him. After bidding him farewell, she turned and entered the courtyard.
Before she reached the front hall, Di Jiancheng's boisterous voice floated out from inside.
"What? Impotent?"
The old lady next to him frowned, grabbed the walking cane by her leg, and hit his calf. "Shut up!"
His calf stinging from the blow, Di Jiancheng clutched his leg and hopped on one leg.
"Mom, you actually hit me! We already have one cripple in the family, do you want another one?"
In his words, Di Jiancheng was clearly mocking Di Mingjue.
The old lady's face turned red with anger, and she raised her cane, ready to strike him on the head.
Forgetting his leg pain, Di Jiancheng dodged, colliding with Jiang Ziyu as she entered.
She had heard all of his previous remarks. Seizing the opportunity as he practically delivered himself, Jiang Ziyu lifted her leg and kicked him hard on the spot that had been hit.
