“Design?” Jiang Ziyu dramatically covered her face, disbelieving. “Sister-in-law, you must be mistaken. I didn’t make you two argue. I just wanted you to focus less on us and more on your own marital life. If you insist on saying I instigated your fight, then there’s nothing I can do.”
With a few words, she overturned Wu Xuerou’s accusation.
Wu Xuerou stared at Jiang Ziyu with disgust, her mouth sealed as if by glue, unable to utter a single word.
“Well, if there’s nothing else, I’ll be going. Mingjue is waiting for me.” Jiang Ziyu, feigning an intimate farewell, rose and stepped over Wu Xuerou’s extended calf.
Sensing the hostile gaze behind her, Jiang Ziyu playfully waved her hand towards Di Mingjue, who was waiting ahead.
“Let’s go.”
Seeing Jiang Ziyu suddenly become so affectionate beside him, and then glancing back at the flailing Wu Xuerou glaring at them, Di Mingjue instantly understood.
He was just a prop!
If being close meant being a prop, then so be it.
Entering the elevator, Di Mingjue watched Jiang Ziyu, who was lost in thought.
*Ding dong*
After the doors opened and people exited, Jiang Ziyu remained standing inside, absentminded. As the doors began to close, Di Mingjue spoke up, “Are you planning to ride the elevator all the way down?”
As he spoke, Jiang Ziyu dizzily looked up at him with a look of sudden realization.
Watching the elevator doors slowly shut, Jiang Ziyu immediately stepped out.
“Who are you thinking about?” Di Mingjue’s voice was filled with resentment. She was right beside him, yet her heart was with another man.
Back in the office, Jiang Ziyu deliberately didn’t answer his question. She sat on the sofa, listlessly surveying the surroundings.
“Shen Lin, you can go out now,” Di Mingjue instructed.
With the closing of the door, only the two of them remained in the office.
Seeing Jiang Ziyu holding her phone, Di Mingjue felt annoyed.
“Pour me a cup of coffee.”
His command echoed above her head. Jiang Ziyu looked around, her gaze settling on him.
“Coffee!” Di Mingjue’s lips moved before her.
Just one cup of coffee, she could make it!
Jiang Ziyu put away her phone and stood up to leave.
“There’s some inside, no need to go out.” Di Mingjue pointed to a table on the side.
On it sat a coffee machine, and beside it were jars filled with unground coffee beans.
“Hand grind?” Jiang Ziyu noticed the coffee machine wasn’t fully automatic.
“You’ve worked hard!” Di Mingjue smiled, gazing at her.
Seeing that he was intentionally making things difficult for her, Jiang Ziyu gritted her teeth and said with a smile, “Okay, you can wait then!”
Since it was hand grinding, he shouldn’t complain about the time it took.
Jiang Ziyu brought the coffee beans and the hand grinder to the coffee table in front of the sofa. She sat cross-legged on the rug and began grinding the coffee beans.
After grinding one bean, she picked up another and put it in. Ten minutes passed, and she had only ground enough for a small coin-sized pile.
Seeing her full of resentment, Di Mingjue’s stifled heart felt instantly relieved. He didn’t really want coffee; he just wanted her to have something to do.
The junction between her thumb and index finger was pressed red by the coffee handle. Jiang Ziyu looked up resentfully; Di Mingjue was looking down, busy with the documents in front of him.
*Hmph, you jerk!*
Muttering this in her heart, she increased the strength in her arm.
The rich aroma of coffee filled the room, and unconsciously, a smile lingered on Di Mingjue’s lips.
…
Project Team.
“This…” The manager held the document, looking nervously at Di Ruihe.
Di Ruihe pulled a stool out from beside him and lounged on it, “Is there a problem?”
His voice seemed light, but it carried a threat.
The manager’s hand trembled, almost dropping the document. He stammered for a long time, then said softly, “The document requires President Di’s personal signature, but this…”
