Chapter 273 An Argument

"What did you say?" Di Mingjue’s lips were pursed. He was extremely curious but didn't want to speak when Jiang Ziyu asked.

Jiang Ziyu glanced at his extremely awkward face and got up to go to the cloakroom. She casually picked out a pair of pants and threw them on the bed. "Fine, if you don't want to say it, hurry up and change. Don't keep Grandma and the others waiting."

Seeing the opportunity, Di Mingjue watched Jiang Ziyu preparing to leave. With a surge of resolve, he angrily questioned, "Who was that man?"

His tone implied Jiang Ziyu had cheated on him.

Turning back to see his huffing and puffing, Jiang Ziyu returned to the bedside, bent down, and took out a contract from the nightstand. "Do you need me to open it for you?"

He knew what it was even without it being opened!

Di Mingjue snorted coldly, "You're the one who should open it!"

He snatched the document and flipped it open, stopping at the second page.

The item was thrown back. Jiang Ziyu looked at it.

Among some clauses, one clearly stated that during the contract period, she could not do anything that would disgrace the Di Jue Group, especially being unclear with other men.

Seeing his unreasonable behavior, Jiang Ziyu could no longer tolerate it. "What evidence do you have that we have an improper relationship? Or does becoming your wife, Di Mingjue, mean I can't even have a male friend?"

"Yes, you can't have any," Di Mingjue roared.

His anger boiling over, Jiang Ziyu threw the document on the floor and retorted, "Then I'm not staying with you anymore!"

She was tired of indulging his bad habits!

As she walked out of the room, a gust of wind in the corridor made Jiang Ziyu immediately regret her actions.

Why had she acted so impulsively? She wanted to turn back, but Di Mingjue inside the room was shouting, "You don't want to stay? What a nice thought, but I won't let you have it!"

The argument upstairs soon reached downstairs. The old lady anxiously instructed, "Go up and check quickly."

Before the butler could respond, Wu Xuerou proactively stood up.

"Grandma, don't worry, I'll go up and see what's happening."

"Go quickly, quickly!"

The old lady urged.

Arriving upstairs, Wu Xuerou saw Jiang Ziyu standing at the door with a troubled expression. She glanced at the closed door behind her and couldn't help but ask, "Cousin-in-law, did you and Cousin quarrel again?"

"No," Jiang Ziyu replied coldly, her mood subdued.

Guessing she would say that, Wu Xuerou chuckled teasingly, "Your little 'flirting' is too scary. Grandma downstairs heard it and thought you two were fighting. She's worried sick and insisted I come up and see. Since everything is fine, you should go down and explain to Grandma."

Not wanting to escalate the situation, Jiang Ziyu nodded and went downstairs alone.

Wu Xuerou stared at the door in front of her, sensing something was amiss. After a moment of hesitation, she raised her hand and opened it.

Hearing the movement, Di Mingjue sarcastically said with feigned arrogance, "Didn't you say you weren't staying? Why are you pitter-pattering back?"

After speaking, he saw Wu Xuerou entering and his expression instantly turned cold. "Who told you to come in!"

Before Wu Xuerou could process what she heard, she was again yelled at by Di Mingjue. Stammering incoherently, she stood there foolishly.

"Get out!" Di Mingjue roared.

The door slammed shut. Wu Xuerou touched her nose, which had narrowly avoided being hit.

Hmph, what’s with all the attitude!

Muttering, she felt a surge of happiness. She knew their relationship wasn't good, and Jiang Ziyu still wanted to keep it a secret.

Happily heading downstairs, Wu Xuerou heard Jiang Ziyu explaining to the old lady.

"Is it really okay?" The old lady was half-believing.

She knew Di Mingjue's temper. Stubborn as a mule, once he set his mind on something, no one could change it.

Jiang Ziyu nodded and explained again, "It's fine, just a small spat."
