Chapter 979 Strange Disappearance

"The specific location," Di Mingjue asked.

He was willing to try anything for information related to them.

Gu Xiukai entered the address into the navigation system, and a voice immediately chimed from within.

"This is it, the navigation will get you there."

Di Mingjue glanced at the destination on the navigation. It was about several dozen kilometers from their current location, almost at the very edge of the suburbs.

If they were really there, how did they get there?

He stepped on the accelerator, and the car began to move.

Along the way, Gu Xiukai babbled in Di Mingjue's ear, "I'm not entirely sure. If there's no one there later, don't blame me."

"You worry too much. Whether we see them or not when we get there, I won't be angry. Instead, I hope you can continue to recall other possible locations he might have gone to," Di Mingjue said.

"Of course, my life was saved by you. Even if I do nothing else all day, I'll try my best to remember where Gu Xiuyu might have gone and provide you with clues," Gu Xiukai said, speaking pleasant words.

This remark actually surprised Di Mingjue. When he first rescued him from the warehouse, Gu Xiukai hadn't been willing to say a single word, let alone provide them with clues like he was doing now.

After not seeing him for a few days, he had become incredibly obedient.

"Then start thinking now," Di Mingjue requested.

Once they reached the suburbs, if Gu Xiuyu and the others weren't there, and if Gu Xiukai remembered something else, they could connect the dots.

Gu Xiukai nodded in agreement, "Alright, you drive carefully, and I'll focus on thinking."

To avoid disturbing his thoughts, Di Mingjue drove as steadily as possible.

The car left the city center and soon entered the suburbs. Compared to the dazzling lights of the city, the suburbs were pitch black. Beyond the limited reach of the lights, nothing else was visible.

"Mr. Di, I need to use the restroom," Gu Xiukai suddenly said.

There were no restrooms here.

Di Mingjue looked out the window.

Visually, he could only see about three hundred meters. Anything further was obscured.

"Stop the car for a moment, I need to relieve myself," Gu Xiukai urged.

Hearing his urgent tone, Di Mingjue had no choice but to stop the car.

The car door was opened, and Gu Xiukai quickly got out of the passenger seat. He initially stood within the range of the car's headlights. As he was about to relieve himself, he looked back at Di Mingjue in the driver's seat.

Sensing his gaze, Gu Xiukai withdrew his hand from his zipper and walked further into the dark woods.

As the person was about to disappear from sight, Di Mingjue got out of the car. "Where are you going?"

"These car headlights are too bright, it's very uncomfortable. I'm going inside to take care of it, and I'll be right back," Gu Xiukai said, afraid of being stopped by Di Mingjue again. Disregarding the surrounding weeds, he hurried forward.

Shortly after he walked away, Di Mingjue sent a message to Ye Chenhan from the car. He briefly informed him of his itinerary to avoid him worrying when he woke up and couldn't find him.

After sending the message, Di Mingjue looked back in the direction Gu Xiukai had gone. Estimating the time, he had been gone for quite a while.

Gu Xiuyu curiously opened the car door and got out.

"Gu Xiukai?"

His voice echoed in the air, but no other sound responded. He glanced back at the car parked behind him. Di Mingjue turned on his phone's flashlight and walked in the direction Gu Xiukai had disappeared.

The further he went inside, the further he moved from the car's light. The path ahead grew darker. Di Mingjue raised his phone and scanned the surroundings, but he still couldn't see Gu Xiukai's figure.

"Gu Xiukai?" he called out again.
